Beth from Chinoiserie Chic continues her virtual renovation of a magnificent and historic Chinoiserie home located in Coral Gables, Florida, and today she brings us the home office. It is always like Christmas when Beth's guest posts arrive in my inbox, and as always, she has knocked it out of the park with this fabulous inspiration board! My husband and I will be sharing a tiny office in our new home, and Beth's glammed up drama provides a larger than life design solution to a small room. Of course, I will have to tone down the glam and drama a bit in our unisex office, but I do think big and bold can make a small space feel larger.... certainly grander. Do you agree?
The home office is a narrow and awkward space, so I decided to really glam it up to add drama. I have chosen an oversized and graphic Florence Broadhurst floral wallpaper in black and white, stained the wood floor black ebony and layered it with a zebra rug. The desk is the Blu Dot Strut Table in Watermelon that I have paired with a red leather wing chair. The lamp is the Penelope lamp from Furbish and the computer is the new iMac from Apple. I have added a vintage Fornasetti bench and a dramatic turquoise chandelier by Marjorie Skouras. Next week, the living room.
