Beth has been celebrating Chinoiserie Chic’s anniversary week by sharing inspiration boards each day for her fantasy Chinoiserie Chic house and an exciting giveaway! Also, if you are looking for an architecturally and historically significant Chinoiserie home across the pond (or if you just want to drool), you must read Beth’s recent post on the Pagoda house, located just outside of London and available for approximately $4.5 USD. It is amazing!!
The price of the Coral Gables Chinese Village House was recently reduced, which presents a fantastic investment opportunity for one savvy buyer. Miami has a large number of seasonal residents, and I could easily see this home scooped up as a second home, or as the ultimate conversation starter primary residence. The new owners will also have the great fortune of Beth’s inspiration boards for reference as they begin renovations!
Stay tuned next Monday, as I pay tribute to Beth’s series with a recap of all of her inspiration boards for the Chinese Village House. Thank you, Beth! It has been such a joy partnering with you!Chinese Village House via a red and yellow Chinese fretwork gate that brings you into a courtyard with ten feet high walls leading to the house. The courtyard really lacks character. I would tear out the ugly painted concrete and patches of grass and put in a beautiful Moroccan tile floor. The high walls would be espaliered with lemons, oranges, wisteria and other beautiful vines. I would add a pair of red lacquered Chinese benches and several blue and white Chinese fishbowls filled with plants. I would also replace the existing pair of foo dogs with a larger, more elegant pair. This will also coordinate with what I chose for the backyard makeover. I hope you have enjoyed this virtual makeover of the Chinese Village House. I would love to see this house properly restored and decorated and brought back to life.
