In Progress: Our Kitchen

Yesterday, I posted some lovely pictures I have been using as inspiration for our kitchen renovation...

As promised, here is what our kitchen looks like today... Clearly we have a long way to go!

View from family room...
Here is what the kitchen looked like in the MLS listing... this view was also taken from the family room. It is a little tricky to tell from this picture, but there was a space in between the cabinets on the right (behind the bird cage) that previously served as the laundry room. We demoed that space and the separating wall to further open up the kitchen.

The former laundry room will partially become our walk-in corner pantry.
We are converting this door into a window that will be above our sink...

Again, it is tough to tell from these pictures, but this odd looking cabinet and the cabinet above it roughly gives you an idea of where our center island will be. It also shows how choppy the prior layout was (to the immediate right is where the laundry room was located, completely breaking up the space.)

Drywall should be going up in a few weeks... I will continue to post updates!

  1. I love your plan & layout A LOT better! Can't wait to see progress. It's fun, I'm sure... We just built, and I had a similar design- white cabinets, white carrera marble, white subway tile. Can't beat it ;)

  2. Oh my, that is quite a gut job. I love your inspiration picture. In fact, I was about to be really excited for you, and then I realized it was the inspiration. Do that one!

  3. This is so exciting! A fresh start. It's going to look gorgeous!

  4. Your kitchen is beautiful! Can you please tell me what brand the chandeliers are and where you purchased them? Thanks!

  5. Hi! Your kitchen is beautiful! Please tell me more about the chandeliers. I'd love to know the brand and where you purchased them. Thanks!

Thank you for your lovely comments. They absolutely make my day!
