I was skimming through the September issue of House Beautiful this afternoon, and I came across a fabulous bedroom covered in Scalamandre Zebras, belonging to designer Sam Allen of Sam Allen Interiors. Upon further investigation, I learned Sam Allen is a 21-year-old decorating genius who has been studying interior design since his teens!
Having grown up the son of interior designer and magazine editor Leslie Allen, Sam was exposed to the creative world of photo shoots for national home and shelter magazines from an early age. His first design job came at the ripe old age of 12 when he walked through the door of Westport’s Dovecote and met owner Sarah Kaplan. Sam was also the youngest intern to ever work for Martha Stewart. By the time he was 17, he landed his first independent client and Sam Allen Interiors was born.
Sam Allen Interiors is located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Sam’s style is clean and comfortable, and it incorporates elements of organic elegance, Parisian charm, and Hollywood glamour. His designs have been featured in numerous publications including Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, Vogue Magazine, The New York Times, and Teen Vogue.
I am so impressed with this burgeoning decorator, and I cannot wait to follow his most promising career!
