20 Blue and White Family/Living Rooms

My apologies for falling off the face of the planet, but this move has been a total beating, y'all. Since my last post, I feel like I have been to war and back. Let's just say that moving into a construction site is NOT FUN. Moving is bad enough in and of itself, but it is impossible to get settled when, for example, our master closets aren't even finished! And last week was just move number one from our temporary home... we are still awaiting delivery of all of our Dallas things, which have been sitting in storage for a year and a half. Ugh, I'm about ready to pull my hair out!!!!

Our nightmare renovation home is coming along very VERY slowly, but surely, and I absolutely cannot wait to share pictures. But first, I'll stop complaining and share some much needed eye candy... As you know, I am creating a blue and white Barclay Butera-inspired family room, and below are some of my inspiration pics...

I am positively coveting those endless yards of Schumacher Chiang Mai! Sigh... if only the budget allowed.

Does anyone know the name of this fabulous David Hicks The Vase-inspired fabric??

A blue and white family room is so gorgeous and timeless when adjacent to a classic white kitchen, don't you think?

Ahhhhh.... I'm feeling better already! There is just something so soothing about classic blue and white. Stay tuned for more on my quest for budget-friendly blue and white fabric! Do you have a favorite?

  2. Such striking photos! My favorite color combo right now is black and navy with white and Seagrass. It's gonna be stunning Andrea. I'm so glad to see a post from you, as I was wondering how the move was going!
Take care, and post those pictures! I can't wait to see them.

  3. I am in blue and white heaven! So gorgeous....every single room. I so feel your pain about moving,it is sooooo exhausting. I remember feeling like my feet were going to fall off my legs, I could not walk another step, but a good nights rest and a comfort meal (and a glass or two of wine) always helped me rev up for the next day! The good news is there IS light at the end of the tunnel and you will be so happy when it starts to go from being a house to your new "home". Congrats and hang in there!

  6. Oh tell me about it, because of the break in, two floors are being replaced, three doors and wallpaper/paint, last week I ate lunch and dinner on top of the bed - it's killing me being in with 5 workmen every day!

    Very soothing pics, thank you.

Hope things settle soon at your end.

  8. I feel your pain! And hate to think my anticipatory wishes have put you under extra pressure. I am warming to the concept of including darker things in with the blue & white.
Now that blue vase fabric is from Robert Allen I think. it used to be on fabric.com but I looked recently & couldn't find it. Came in pink & green colourways as well but of course we blue & white lovers would only consider it in one way!
    take care,
    Wendy
