Welcome to my One Room Challenge powder room final reveal! I am delighted to be a linking participant in Linda at Calling it Home‘s six week challenge, and I have been so appreciative of all the encouraging comments and support you have all provided along the way. I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful readers!!! To start at the beginning of this makeover, click here.
The crown jewel in this powder room absolutely is the “faux de Gournay” hand-painted silk Chinoiserie wallpaper I had commissioned in China by Silk Castle Trade and Industrial Company. I am delighted with it, and the cost is a fraction of what you would pay for de Gournay, Gracie, or Griffin & Wong. You can read all about the design and order process here.
The other gem is this Sherle Wagner marble sink I scored on Craigslist Palm Beach for $250. This was the absolute deal of the century, considering retail is $22,176, plus tax! It is hand carved out of two solid pieces of marble, and it is truly a work of art. The carved bird mirror (which I DIY repainted) was also a Craigslist find. The gold-plated Sherle Wagner cherub faucet, vintage sconces and chandelier are from eBay. And I was able to zush it all up using treasures and trinkets found around our home… So I was able to create this room on a modest budget!
