Tropical Coastal Decor: Polyvore's Project Decorate

If you love interior design and you are not on Polyvore, I suggest heading over ASAP. Polyvore members are allowed to create image collages, such as design inspiration boards, called "sets" for free. Even if you are a complete technophobe, such as myself, it is pretty easy to figure out... and highly addictive! I had only dabbled around with Polyvore a bit in the past, but thanks to this recent tutorial from Linda at Calling it Home, I have been trying to hone my skills.

Linda has also partnered with One Kings Lane for an exciting contest - Tropical Coastal Decor With Calling It Home - and two lucky winners will receive a $500 gift card from OKL! Click here to learn more. Here are the first three sets I created for the contest (you can also follow me on Polyvore here)...

Of course I had to start off with my signature Brazilliance wallpaper by Carleton Varney. I then added a little sparkle to create "Tropical Coastal Glam."

I created this Lilly Pulitzer inspired "Tropical Fun" set using Lilly Pulitzer for Lee Jofa fabric in Heritage Floral as my backdrop.  But it is the "Three Wise Monkeys" prints from The Pink Pagoda that steal the show.  A vintage elephant console table and green zebra rug from Jonathan Adler complete the colorful and whimsical vignette. The candle is Oranger from Diptyque... one of my favorites, and the jute basket is currently on sale at Target!

For this "Dragon Chic" inspired bedroom, I selected Lilly Pulitzer for Lee Jofa fabric in Tail Lights. Leontine linens with a "Chopstick" monogram and a seagrass rug set the Coastal Chinoiserie tone. The fabulous pagoda headboard is from Serena & Lilly, and the nightstands are from C. Bell. The dragon prints, blue and white lamps and vase are from The Pink Pagoda. The tote is Lilly Pulitzer, and the sandals are Jack Rogers

A few of my favorite bloggers are also participating in the contest... Here are two of the boards Beth at Chinoiserie Chic created... You will want to follow Beth on Polyvore, as she is creating a Chinoiserie Chic group where you can add any Chinoiserie inspiration boards you create. Fun!

Jennifer at The Pink Pagoda is also participating. I am wild for this set she created featuring my beloved Brazilliance! Click here to follow The Pink Pagoda on Polyvore.

Next week, Jennifer is partnering with Polyvore for Project Decorate. Two lucky participants will win a $500 gift certificate to Horchow at the end of the week! You can read more about The Pink Pagoda contest here.

A giant THANK YOU to Linda at Calling it Home for hosting this competition, and for all of her continued guidance and technical support! You can view all of the sets submitted for the Tropical Coastal Decor contest, and participate, here. The contest ends on Sunday.

Any other Polyvore enthusiasts out there? Let me know, I would love to follow you! And please feel free to follow me along as well. :)

  2. Your boards are inspiring, Andrea. I am so impressed. Polyvore still has me intimidated, but I vow to get it figured out. Where did you find that amazing white chinoiserie bench in the "Dragon Chic" bedroom?
