Christmas with Suzanne Kasler

Earlier this month, I featured Suzanne Kasler's gorgeous Buckhead home. While compiling the images, I stumbled upon her home decorated for Christmas, as featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine in 2012, and I just had to share as we enter the holiday season.

Suzanne starts planning her seasonal decor in November, and in early December she sets aside two days to complete the transformation of the Regency-style home. Because she has numerous collections from which to choose, Suzanne has a different focus each year. “I start with a concept, then pick and choose from my collections—and edit,” she says, noting that there are some constants throughout. The results are festive and elegant—a true reflection of Suzanne’s personal style.

“I have a beautiful collection of ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ ornaments from Christopher Radko," said Suzanne. "I always put them on the main tree in the family room. And I like to use things from my Christmas collection for Ballard Designs. It was inspired by antique ornaments I’ve collected in muted colors, and the tree in the living room is done in those ornaments, paired with all-silver varieties. The fireplace mantel incorporates them, too; the muted colors are gorgeous there.”

Complementing the designer’s special collections throughout the house are elements in traditional red and green hues, as well as timeless Frasier fir and juniper berries.

30 Blue and White Tablescapes for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. It is a relaxing and special time to pause and give thanks with family and friends, before all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas. And here in South Florida, Thanksgiving ushers in "season"... that glorious and fleeting spell of heavenly weather we enjoy between Thanksgiving and Easter. One of my favorite color palettes is blue and white, so the combination Thanksgiving with blue and white makes me very happy.  For inspiration, I have selected 30 of my favorite tablescapes... Enjoy!

I hope you all have a very lovely and blessed Thanksgiving!

Jules Reid's Beach Bungalow for Sale!

Fashion designer Jules Reid has listed her charming Virginia Beach cottage for sale, and I am ready to move right in! You may remember, I featured this dream beach bungalow back in June, which has been published in  Muses & Visionaries and Matchbook Magazine. It is a work of art completely redesigned by Jules from the painted white floors to the vintage, one of a kind wallpaper in the bathrooms.  Let's take a look at a few of the listing images, along with highlights from past media coverage...

Located half a block from the ocean in Virginia Beach, a convenient, hidden gem along the East Coast, the cottage is perfect for a family, second home, or rental property. It is nestled in the North End of the beach, 35 blocks from the hustle and bustle. The front five rooms were built in 1930 and the rest of the house was added on over the years. The 2,100 square foot home has four bedrooms and three baths and is priced unfurnished, but furnishings are negotiable... Yes, please!! To view the listing, please click here. Also, Jules Reid is offering the following special discount to The Glam Pad readers... just in time for the holidays. Happy shopping!
