I look at my old Christmas issues every year early in the season just for inspiration… living in Dallas, I am familiar w/these homes… agreed… timeless and look as good today as years ago,,, thanks for posting them… Teresa
Yes! Yes! Yes! I so miss this magazine! Those were the days when we interior designers could let our creative efforts go wild. Clients loved us, respected our education, and loved detail! I remember this house and have saved all my past issues too.. These houses were charming, original, full of warmth, wonderful fabrics, and antique furniture, respecting artistry and fine craftmanship. Can we please return to this style?!
All of my thoughts were all expressed by the previous posts. I wished I save all my Southern Accents. I loved the stuffed chintz sofa and chairs with long fringe. Material like that is very hard to find today. Most fabrics, I crave, have been discontinued. What a shame
Andrea, I so miss Southern Accents, I am so glad I kept so many of the old copies, and I still go back and review them to this day. Classic, traditional southern style will always be timeless. Thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you, Andrea! I agree–I also miss Southern Accents, and I wish I still had my old copies (casualities of our moves). Such a warm and inviting home! Merry Christmas to you…
Andrea, I echo you and everyone else in saying I miss Southern Accents and the beautifully colorful and elegant traditional interiors. It’s sad that so many nowadays do not even know of such elegance and a plain grey room is the height of sophistication.
Thank you for sharing a beautiful house decorated for Christmas. How could one in a house like this not get in the Christmas spirit?
I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas,
Joshua
I totally agree with you! I still have many old issues of Southern Accents magazine. They were beautiful. They also weren’t more than 50% advertisements!
There was recently a magazine called Vintage that also had great articles. Pretty just isn’t hot right now, in more ways than one.
I subscribed to Southern Accents for 20 years and so wish I had saved at least some of those issues…the all time best magazine! Thank you so much for carrying the baton of chintz, collections, needlepoint, Dogs, I could go on and on…this is how I live and it is nice to know there are others out there as well.
Southern Accents was my favorite magazine! So well done. I kept the Christmas issues and every year look at the feature on this home. I love the timelessness of of good design. The exterior photograph in the rain is perfect!
I too miss the Southern Accents magazine. It was my favorite. What a beautiful home . I remember this issue.
Good design never goes out of style. Looks like it was decorated last week.
OMG – yes I miss that magazine! Thanks for bringing this back and sharing. Merry Christmas.
Absolutely gorgeous.

I pull old issues out all the time but especially at Christmas.

It was a lovely house! I had nothing to do with this one, but later worked on two more for the same owners.
