In 2008, Harper’s Bazaar photographed the picture-perfect New York City Upper East Side apartment Tinsley Mortimer shared with her picture-perfect (former) husband Topper. After a shocking split in 2009, Tinsley moved to Chelsea, stared in a reality TV show called “High Society” (RIP) and wrote an adorable book “Southern Charm” described as a as a “pink Ladurée macaron of a novel” by The New York Times.
Born to an old-guard Virginia family, Tinsley’s Southern roots are apparent in her decorating style. I absolutely love every single detail of her apartments! I am also crazy about her self-proclaimed “girly girl” atire. Let’s take a look inside! First, here is Tinsley’s classic Upper East Side apartment.
Tinsley lounges on her Brunschwig & Fils sofa, flanked by Scalamandré- fabric floral chairs, chairs with Clarence House blue velvet, and a glass coffee table from Mrs. MacDougall at Hinson & Company. Image courtesy of Harper’s Bazaar.
“I like pretty things around. I like it to be prissed up. Then I feel at least something is sane in my life,” said Tinsley.
These French chairs, upholstered in China Rose by Scalamandré are divine. I actually have a near-identical pair that I am thinking of recovering in this fabulous fabric for our entryway! Image courtesy of This is Glamorous.

Tinsley tempts her Chihuahuas Bebe and Bella with a plate of pasta on her Schweitzer Linen monogrammed sheets. Her Scalamandré-covered headboard is by Joseph Hercules.
SIDE NOTE: How cute are those Chihuahuas? Here is my three-pound bundle of joy, Phoebe! Phoebe Chihuahua, adopted last spring, currently serves as editor of The Glam Pad. 🙂

And here is Tinsley’s current Chelsea apartment!

“The overall theme of my apartment is color mixed with traditional elements. I also love a lot of Asian influence, so with the foo dogs, the blue and white Chinese porcelain, as well as a lot of the fabric choices that I have are also very Asian-inspired,” said Tinsley.
This is an older picture of Tinsley’s entryway via Pinterest. Looks like she swapped out the Peacock wallpaper for the more neutral Grass cloth above. Which do you prefer? Click here to see an interview Vogue conducted with Tinsley, and note the Peacock wallpaper.

Here is Tinsley’s bedroom painted in navy, as featured on HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home.” Which of the three paint selections do you prefer? The light blue, white or navy?
Here are those precious Chihuahuas again!

I’d be jumping up and down with joy too, if I had this de Gournay wallpaper in my home! Image courtesy of TinsleyMortimer.com.
What do you think of Tinsley’s décor? I think it is perfection, and I am so inspired by her fabric selections and color combinations!

Beautiful home, you have excellent taste!
Thank you, Tabitha! 🙂 I've read that Tinsley's mother is an interior decorator, and it appears as though Tinsley inherited her style!
Love this! I would take all of her abodes in a heartbeat!
