I’m back today with a virtual makeover of the kitchen in the Chinese Village House and boy, does it need it! A complete gut job is in order except for the red windows and the wood floor. In keeping with the red and yellow color scheme of this historic home’s exterior and the interior red fretwork throughout, I have brought red and yellow into the kitchen.
The wood floor will be stained the same black ebony I have used in the entryway and dining room. The walls are wallpapered in the iconic Clarence House David Hicks The Vase in the yellow colorway. The cabinets are sleek high gloss white with Carrara marble countertops and backsplash. The refrigerator and dishwasher will also be faced in white high gloss panels so they virtually disappear.
At center stage will be this stunning red range and hood. The window treatments are relaxed roman shades in linen with an inset band of black. A vintage palm chandelier – so Palm Beach Chic – is painted high gloss red. A black marble Saarinen tulip table and red iron Chinese Chippendale chairs are a great spot to eat when one is not using the formal dining room.

Are you sure you can't buy this house 🙂
Great job. I love your posts! Full of creativity……
