A Jan Showers Home Hits the MLS!

April 7, 2013

Jan Showers is largely responsible for fueling my passion for interior design.  I have read every article in which she has been covered, I have read her book “Glamorous Rooms” at least 100 times, and I pretty much have every element of each of her projects from that book memorized.

Based in Dallas, Jan Showers is known for her understated glamour, the combination of a variety of periods and styles, and the creation of comfortable spaces. A Dallas publication once wrote, “A serene Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief might have been Showers’ perfect client and she’s decorated the homes of some of the most stylish-women in the city…”

Well, one of these stylish women has put her amazing Dallas home up for sale… so let’s check out the MLS listing!

But first, here are the images of this elegant home, as featured on the Jan Showers website. The MLS pics really do not do justice…

And now for the MLS listing! (Click here to see more…)

I actually had the pleasure of visiting this home years ago for a nonprofit board meeting. It is truly incredible, and it was all I could do to restrain myself from ogling every nook and cranny! I wonder if the owner could be convinced to sell it furnished??

Since we moved to South Florida over a year ago, my decor style has been heavily influenced by palm trees and Palm Beach Chic… but with a heavy dose of Jan Showers elegance and glamour. Who was your first favorite interior decorator, and how have they influenced your style over the years?

Wow, what a home. I love how it could be located anywhere. It is classic and sophisticated.

Thanks for doing this piece on this particular house, designed by Jan Showers. That dining room has been an inspiration for years. I finally got the Japanese panel and needed this reference to know how to hang it. Lovely seeing the entire space and various angles of it. Thank you!
