The powder room in the Chinese Village House is very Palm Beach Chic. I have papered the walls in a favorite Chinoiserie wallpaper of mine, Masquerade by Thibaut. The floor is marble. I have converted a Dorothy Draper style chest into a vanity sink and had foo dog faucets custom made. A large window in the powder room has coral silk taffeta curtains. A black pagoda mirror hangs above the sink. The chandelier is by Marjorie Skouras. The hand towels are Leontine Linens with a Chinoiserie monogram. The garden stool is from the Lilly Pulitzer Home Collection. The Chinoiserie wastebasket is Marye-Kelley. Next week we makeover the backyard.

I think that wallpaper would have allowed Oscar Wilde a few extra days of peace and tranquility. Housing shortage you say?!?! So I've heard at the very high end which I also take a great interest in-albeit from afar but on my end in Chicago & elsewhere it's a bloodbath and hopefully we've hit bottom.
At the end of February 2013, nationwide inventory was at a 13-year low. http://news.yahoo.com/existing-home-sales-edge-higher-inventory-13-low-150623696–business.html While it picked up slightly in March, inventories are still 15% below their (already low) levels of a year ago… http://blogs.wsj.com/developments/2013/04/10/housing-inventory-picks-up-in-march/ Perplexed about Chicago, I conducted a bit of research and learned that Illinois was one of only four states where home prices dropped in December. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20130219/OPINION/130219791/have-chicago-area-home-prices-hit-bottom-finally Hopefully y’all are on the rise!!
Fun!
Wish the wallpaper was still available, always been a fav of mine. Foo dog faucet handles- oh yeah!!!
Very unique and glam! So much to look at and take in all in the time it takes to be in the ladies room, haha! Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
