This week I’ve been taking you on a little tour of the city in which I currently live – Coral Gables, Florida – and specifically within a few of its charming historic villages. “The Village Project” was developed in the 1920s by Coral Gables founder, George Merrick, and today includes the Chinese Village, the Italian Village, the Dutch South African Village, the French Provincial Village, the French Country Village, the French City Village, and the Florida Pioneer/Colonial Village.
This spring, I shared my absolute dream home, located in the Florida Pioneer/Colonial Village, and Beth from Chinoiserie Chic guest posted a virtual renovation of a home for sale in the Chinese Village. This week, I’ve taken you inside homes in the Dutch South African Village and the French Country Village, and today, I bring you the Italian Village. 4301 Monserrate Street is one of only 17 original homes built in Merrick’s celebrated Italian Village between 1925 and 1926.

I'm completely absorbed with every home you post! I feel my pinterest boards up, also!
What a gorgeous home. I think despite my many trips to Florida that I have never visited Coral Gables! Looks beautiful and this home is fabulous…..
You can't beat the Gables for wonderful examples of great design! Just look at that
light…wonderful. I could move right in.
How fascinating, I didn't know that about the different villages. Next to Los Angeles, this would be my favourite place to move too.
