It is an exciting day for Jan Showers fans, as her second book, Glamorous Retreats, is released this month! Four years ago her first book, Glamorous Rooms, was published, and I had to buy a second copy because I read my first so many times, it was falling apart! Jan Showers is truly the epitome of glamorous. It was once written that, “A serene Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief might have been Showers’perfect client…” and coincidentally Showers herself, a stunning Dallas blonde, bears a resemblance to Princess Grace.
While Glamorous Rooms was a monograph of Showers’ work over the past 25-30 years, divided into chapters about how to approach design and decorating,Glamorous Retreats showcases numerous second and third homes Showers has decorated over the past decade. Glamorous Retreats takes you inside the glamorous lifestyles of Showers’ clients, and it features a variety of design aesthetics, many of which are completely different than Glamorous Rooms. Let’s take a look inside!
