  1. Love this! The mix of chintz and all the other textures and patterns is wonderful. This looks so fresh and comfortable.

  2. Enduring style with the use of an eclectic collection. Your blog is such a treat–highlighting creative traditions that are timeless! Appreciate your design eye!

  3. Truly love every room. So live-able, not “decorator-y”.

I also like that it looks casual, I can’t stand when people make vacation homes look too fancy

  4. “Grandmother” would never have used wallpaper as houses were left unheated/unairconditioned at all times. Wallpaper would have mildewed and looked awful. Also, many of the pieces of furniture would have looked far more “worn” – people took their things that were beginning to look a bit tatty at home, to their summer houses to get a few more years out of them. This included sheets and towels, too! Rugs, in particular, would have been nearly threadbare.

It’s a very pretty house, but it’s not “grandmother’s house”.

  5. What a delight! Every room was an unexpected visual treat. I felt comforted by the spaces and wanted to enter, sit and take it all in. Not one space was boring ……thank you!

  6. Loved the bamboo desk at the end of the bed. I just bought one that I had seen I VICTORIA magazine about 30 years ago. It has decoupaged hydrangea. It had belonged to Barbara Bradley a founder of Vera Bradley a Fort Wayne,Indiana company.

  7. What a delightful use of wallpaper, color, antiques and interesting collections! All it needed was some/more Needlepoint to be perfect.

  8. So lovely. I feel as if I just spent a relaxing week at the beach after pouring over these photos. What charm and what enthusiasm for fresh blue and white. Are they open to taking reservations? 🙂 Thanks for this visual treat as we are experiencing rain everyday this week.
