  1. What I really loved about Betsy’s homes are not just the aesthetic (beautiful, yes, but also warm and inviting), but also the little practical touches. Designers probably hate the word practical because maybe they think that it detracts from the artistic vision that they are trying to create, but when I saw the reading lamps hanging over the tops of the beds, I thought to myself, “Now there is a designer that understands that people don’t just want to “present”their lives, they want to actually be fully functioning entities within them. I guess what I am trying to say, is that no matter how well-appointed a room is, if I can’t see the words in my book as I lie in bed at night, then it’s not working for me. Betsy seems to understand this as well.

  2. Heartily agree with previous comment by Alicia Webster. Betsy has woven beauty and function artistically. Obviously she is organized therefore her work is organized. Truly appreciate how she uses rattan. There is just enough without it being overwhelming as well as working into a non-coastal space. Very well done!

  3. My eyes kept looking at all the lovely details in these photos. Each of Betsy Shiverick’s impressive and beautiful interiors contain just the right mixture of light, luxury, and practicality, yet all manage to feel like “home”.
To me, that is the ultimate compliment one can receive as an interior designer.
