“The idea of home is almost always bound up in stories and the passing of time: the object passed down by a favourite grandmother; the thought of winter evenings by the fireside, the quiet hours spend reading a book in the armchair that catches the light at the right time of day.”  ~ Jenny Rose-Innes

  1. Love all the maximalism. The British embrace colour in a very pleasing way. I find the Fisher interiors the most cohesive and elegant. Looks like an interesting book.

  2. This is a fabulous book — one of my favorites! Also, folks should have a look at Near and Far, and Robert Kime. Both of those are a treat, too. Far from bland.

  3. Thanks for featuring this book….I got my copy in today on the basis of your recommendation. It is BY FAR my favorite of English design books. Thanks again for a beautiful website/instagram.

  4. I recently remodeled/redecorated my French Normandy home in my fav pinks, teals and whites. Re wallpapered EVERY room and added handcrafted teal mermaid tail backsplash to my Hearth kitchen with velvet blush stools and chairs, oversized floral teal sofa and it looks devoid with my marbles brown granite, almond wraparound gorgeous cabinets with pink, gold , ivory knobs ( Etsy ). Wish I could send photos. I get raves and now entertain more.It ended up maximalist French/English Cottage, GLAM Coastal….romantic, elegrant, whimsical…like ME.
