One Room Challenge Week Four: Nursery Makeover

April 23, 2015

I cannot believe it is already Week Four of the One Room Challenge, created by Linda at Calling it Home! You can catch up on the progress I have made towards our nursery transformation here, here, and here. Everything seems to be coming together according to plan, and I think I might just be able to pull this off in time for the grand reveal on May 7!

Last week, I focused on my linen selections for the room, and this week I thought I would share my art selections. My primary inspiration for the nursery comes from the whimsical jungle safari theme in Clarence House’s Congo fabric, and I was looking to find art to complement…
I have always loved the “Little Darlings” series of baby animals from The Animal Print Shop, and I thought they would be perfect in our baby boy’s nursery…. I ordered eight prints, and they will hang above the changing table. Here are a few inspirational rooms featuring art from the Animal Print Shop…

Aren’t they adorable? You can see the full line of Little Darlings from The Animal Print Shop here. I also fell in love with the safari animals available from White Faux Taxidermy. I selected the Tolsby elephant head, which will hang above the crib.

And last, but certainly not least… this adorable giclee from The Pink Pagoda will be perfect for the en suite bathroom, which I will also feature in my reveal.

I will frame these elephant cuties in a wide blue mat and simple white wooden frame, like this…

Here are a few more goodies that have arrived since my last post…
Slate blue glider (on sale!) from Land of Nod
Vintage brass giraffes from eBay
Wicker elephant hamper from Amazon
Gold Moroccan pouf from One Kings Lane

Headboard, bedskirts, and pillow are in the works, and should be delivered on Monday!

Custom work by Window Blind Distributor
Bedding from Jill Sorensen has arrived and monogrammed shams and other linens are in progress at  calicodaisy.
And how beautiful are these personalized cuddly blankets from the lovely Darlene at Bundle Me Baby? This would be the perfect accessory for snuggling on the glider…

The leopard carpet I ordered from Lowe’s is scheduled to arrive today! As soon as it is delivered, I am rushing it to a local rug shop to have it bound… they have promised to turn it around in time for photography. Fingers crossed!

SO ADORABLE! Thank you for sharing The Animal Print Shop — I had no idea that existed, and those prints are just to die for! My kids LOVE animals, and I think I'll be making an order! I love that they're actual photography and not kid-cartoonish.
This room is going to be wonderful, and I can't wait to see it!
