Who else still misses Southern Accents? It really was the best magazine, and I still love revisiting old issues. Lately I have also found myself feeling nostalgic about “the good old days” of interior design. It was during my teenaged years in the 1990s when I first fell in love with interior design, and to this day chintz, ruffles, and fine antiques are like chicken soup to my soul. I am also a huge fan of Dallas interior designer Josie McCarthy. Recently I stumbled upon a 1920s home she designed, as featured in the November-December 1995 issue of Southern Accents. I am excited to share this beautiful Dallas home today with scanned images from Josie’s website and captions from my old issue of Southern Accents. Photography by Peter Woloszynski,
Isn’t this home gorgeous? And what I love most is that it is truly timeless. It looks as fresh and elegant today as it did 22 years ago. That is the beauty of traditional design! Last year, I featured another timeless Southern Accents Christmas home from the November-December 2008 issue that also happens to be located in Dallas.
