I have always admired the work of designer Ashley Whittaker, and this stunning Darien, Connecticut home is no exception. The Greek Revival–style home serves as a weekend getaway for her clients, and the enchanting botanical wallpaper by de Gournay sets the tone. One thing I particularly love about Whittaker’s homes is the way she designs each room with the entire house in mind to ensure a pleasing flow from room to room. “As I design a room, I’m always considering the space next door,” Whittaker said in an interview with House Beautiful. “What are the contrasts, what’s the continuity, what do I want to see more of?” Photography by Read McKendree for the March 2018 issue of House Beautiful.

This is a retreat I would never want to leave! For more, please see the March 2018 issue of House Beautiful. An interview with Whittaker about the vision behind this home can be found here.

So beautiful…the trim above the wainscoting in the bathroom…swoon
Love the wallpaper in the bathroom. I also like the green shades on scones in the bathroom and living room. That is the way to tastefully throw in a shades of a popular color.
Gorgeous! I really like Ashley Whitaker’s style.
She is a brilliant colorist and a talented decorator!
Just wonderful! This is what a home should be! Charming, warm, filled with the history of the life of its owners. And those views! Surely, this is what heaven looks like.
You have made your house well decorated and the best part i like is your drawing room. Thanks for sharing.
