Located just steps from Long Island Sound, this century-old Georgian home in Connecticut exudes classic coastal style. When its longtime owners decided to update the interior three years ago, they turned to Tommy Smythe and Lindsay Mens Craig of Sarah Richardson Design. Tommy and Lindsay stayed true to the home’s historic roots by scouring antique markets to find furniture and accessories. “They have a soul and a history, and it’s OK if they get more wear,” says Lindsay. “You don’t want to have to tiptoe around.” Combining an eclectic array of classic furniture and modern pieces, they created a refined yet easygoing retreat. Inspired by the home’s seaside location, the designers selected a cloud print wallpaper in the entry that evokes the changing skies over Long Island Sound, and varying patterns and shades of blue and white were incorporated throughout. Love this and love Tommy Smythe of Sarah Richardson Design. Miss seeing him on HGTV-US. The blues and beiges are terrific!
Lots of bold choices here, and all succeeded. They did a wonderful job.
Gorgeous blend of old and new and an exceptional example of casual elegance!
What is the blue color on the bathroom cabinets.
Thank you,
