Located in Walland, Tennessee near the Great smoky Mountains National Park, Blackberry Farm is a renowned 4,200-acre luxury hotel and cottage retreat. The architecture firm of Spitzmiller and Norris recently completed a 19 plus year collaboration with Blackberry Farm after designing numerous renovations for the main house, boat house, various cottages and several private residences, including the home we are touring today! The architecture of the home was designed to pay tribute to Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage in Nashville. “Collected rather than decorated” is how Suzanne Kasler, the interior designer, described the overall look of the house. “There’s a feeling of legacy, of heritage, as if it’s always been there.” This article originally appeared in the November 2012 issue of Architectural Digest. I think it would have been apropos to mention that unfortunately Sam Beall died in a tragic ski accident several years ago. He is missed certainly but BF carries on with the very able Mary Celeste at the helm. I know it said 2012, but it was worth mentioning I thought
Oh how horrible, I had no idea! My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

it is a beautiful home, and I hope Sam’s memory gives them comfort. I remember when the tragic accident happened. Blessings to the family.
I agree that it is hard to look at this post knowing what has happened. I was sure this was posted without you knowing about the accident.
