The Joy of Home by Ashley Gilbreath

One of the best-selling books released this spring is Ashley Gilbreath‘s debut, The Joy of Home, published by Gibbs Smith. Our favorite featured home is a traditional beauty with loads of chinoiserie accents, elegant antiques, treasured family heirlooms, fabulous pops of color, and exquisite architecture designed by C. Brandon Ingram.

“The vibrant coral hue throughout the home is used to create cohesion while also injecting a bit of levity and nonchalance into the classical architecture,” Ashley explains in her book. “Proper color usage allows for natural progression through interior spaces and provides segues to outdoor living areas.”

Let’s take a tour with photography by Emily Followill for The Joy of Home.

  1. Wow. I rarely comment on anything, but these photos are absolutely lovely. The pops of coral were gorgeous (and I didn’t even know that I liked coral!). Thank you for sharing. That was just what I needed today.

  2. Hi! Thank you so much for featuring this home!! It’s actually my own house! We’re so honored to be in Ashley’s book and to be on your website as well…I LOVE The Glam Pad!!!! For the question about the bunk beds, our carpentry/millwork guys built them from Brandon’s design. Thank you again for showing our home. And if you look close in the bunk room you’ll see our beloved cat Mr Biscuits.

  3. A beautiful home with attention to every detail. What color of paint was the interior of the home painted. Love the white, gray, and brown tones throughout the home, and of course the pops of coral…over the top!
