Love the wall colour and general design of the foyer, and the entry door is splendid too. What a pity about the paneling in the library, though. What would have been a very warm room becomes a bit icy with the white walls and white ceiling, and not how it was meant to be. Very pretty, but not welcoming. I would kill for that japanned secretary, though.
Just recently found your blog and read it daily now. I'm from Chicago and if I'm not mistaken, the Playboy Mansion on State Parkway was converted into condos and this home is just one of the condos. This home does not take up the entire mansion. The mansion is huge and the building takes up a good portion of the block.
I also agree with the previous comment. I have lots of blue/white Chinoiserie in my home and this pictured home isn't very warm and welcoming. And YES, I would kill for that japanned Secretary!!
Thank you for for following my blog and for your comment! According to Traditional Home, there were originally two homes which Hugh Hefner purchased and connected, creating a compound that became known as the Playboy Mansion. The pair of houses are now separated and have returned to single-family units. I hope that helps!
