Newly released books for Spring are starting to arrive, and I look forward to sharing my favorites… At the top of the list is LIVING FLORAL: Entertaining and Decorating with Flowers, written by Margo Shaw, editor-in-chief of Flower magazine with foreword by Charlotte Moss, and published by Rizzoli. Living Floral is brimming with innovative floral design ideas from top tastemakers and designers including Bunny Williams, Suzanne Rheinstein, Ashley Whittaker, Christopher Spitzmiller, Frances Schultz, Alex Papachristidis, Cornelia Guest, Elizabeth Locke, Tara Guerard, Sybil Sylvester, P. Allen Smith, and Alex Hitz.
Divided into four seasonal sections, plus practical how-tos and invaluable resources, Living Floral illustrates how traditionalists and modernists put together irresistible tables dressed in everything from simple white plates on vintage textiles to heirloom silver, fine china, and elegant linens—but always with exquisite flowers that form the centerpiece of where we gather with our friends and loved ones. Arranged and showcased in an inspiring variety of containers, the blooms in Living Floral are a heartfelt expression of welcome and celebration that will inspire the reader to incorporate flowers into their everyday lives with the same passion.
LIVING FLORAL: Entertaining and Decorating with Flowers is available at Amazon and is a must-have for flower and interior design enthusiasts, home gardeners, and those who appreciate the beauty and everyday luxury of flowers. You will want to add this beautiful book to your library, and it also makes a fabulous hostess gift or Mother’s Day gift!
About the Authors
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Margot Shaw studied art history at Hollins College in Virginia and interior design at the University of Texas. Once a self-confessed “call and order flowers girl,” Shaw reached a watershed moment when planning her daughter’s home wedding. Working alongside the floral and event designer, she recognized the artistry and inspiration involved in “flowering” and soon began apprenticing with the same designer. A few years in, unable to locate a publication that spoke to her passion, she set about creating one and in 2007 launched FLOWER, a floral lifestyle magazine that inspires, entertains, and educates readers with a point of view that stems from seeing life through a botanical lens. Karen M. Carroll has over 25 years of experience in design and lifestyle journalism. She is the former editor in chief of Southern Accents and Entrée magazines and a current contributor to Flower as editor at large. Lydia Somerville is a writer specializing in homes, entertaining, and luxury lifestyle. She has worked at Vogue, Southern Accents, and Coastal Living and is a contributor to Flower and Southern Home. Charlotte Moss is a designer, author, and philanthropist. She has authored ten books, including, most recently, Charlotte Moss Entertains (Rizzoli, 2018).
Spring is just around the corner – and this is the perfect book for it. Thanks for sharing.
