Ever since I was a little girl, I have been enchanted by romantic old Tudor homes and English design. As a student at SMU, I remember driving by this particular Tudor, located on charming Alice Circle in the Old Highland Park neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Built in 1925, this exquisite English stone manor is nestled amidst a thicket of ancient cedars and live oak. Every window offers a beautiful view of the gardens brimming with roses, wisteria, and English ivy. The lovely gazebo by the pool lends itself to parties on the spacious lawns. Designed by Thomson & Fooshee, this home is an architectural treasure restored to perfection. Somehow I stumbled upon images from an old real estate listing, so let’s take a tour of this romantic home!
So beautiful! Do you love these 1920s and 30s storybook Tudors as much as I do? This home features five bedrooms, four full baths and two half baths, with 7,480 square feet on a .73 lot. You can see more here and here.
UPDATE: A reader on Instagram remembers seeing this home in a magazine years ago… she thinks it was Veranda. If anyone remembers the exact publication, please let me know! 🙂

wow. captivating. i love these.
O.M.G.!!!! That house is so obscenely and amazingly wonderful. Wow. I’m gobsmacked. Each room more beautiful than the next. I just hope the new owners understood the spaces as well as these people did, and did right by it. No new home could match the charm and splendour and workmanship that is being offered here. C’est magnifique!

What a warm home, full of personality, historic charm and comfortable for all seasons. I love Tudors and Tudor revivals!
What an outstanding house! It is my favorite style also. My mother grew up in an English Tudor design house that her father built in the 1930s in River Oaks, Houston, TX.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!
Beautiful!
This home is beautiful. I love every color on every wall and the stone!
What a lovely home! A little more prefect than a true English Tudor (an age that can’t be replicated no matter how hard you try), but it is extremely charming and beautiful. I’m sure it doesn’t have pokey hallways and chimneys that smoke, making it infinitely more comfortable for our modern lifestyle. Happy to see so many others who appreciate one of the most wonderful architectural styles ever created! Thank you for sharing it. Your posts are my favorite of those I follow. You always come up with something swoonworthy! xoxo
Thank you so much, Kim!
