Caroline Gidiere’s Classic Georgian Home

February 21, 2020

Located in Mountain Brook, Alabama, Caroline Gidiere‘s exquisite Georgian home is one of the most reposted homes on social media. It was built about 10 years ago by architect James F. Carter who specializes in “new old” houses.  Caroline and her husband had planned on restoring the home originally built on the property, but when James broke the news that it was dilapidated to a point beyond saving, they decided to build their dream home.  Caroline, a lawyer at the time, grew up visiting Colonial Williamsburg every summer with her family, and she was particularly taken with the George Wythe house, which served as inspiration for her new home.  Always passionate about interior design, she decided to work with James on the project without a designer… a decision that led to a career change. Her timeless, traditional interiors brimming with vibrant colors and patterns were an instant hit, and after wrapping up her legal practice, her design business now has more work than she can handle.  Let’s take a tour with images from the March/April 2020 issue of VERANDA…

Just when I think you can’t possibly present anything more beautiful, you post a story like this one!

Thanks for sharing all of these beautiful homes!

I don’t have a computer at home, so when I’m not at work for a couple for a day or so, the first thing I do when I return to work is turn on my computer and go to The Glam Pad!
