When Atlanta interior designer John Banks was looking to downsize, he was delighted when a house just two doors from his current residence became available. Designed by noted residential architect Lewis Crook in 1951, the home had great bones but was dated, so John worked with architects Robert Norris and Rick Spitzmiller of Spitzmiller & Norris to bring it back to life. John loved the neoclassical façade and interior detailing which included original casework, plaster walls, and marble floors. They also added moldings and over-door pediments to rooms that were lacking detail. Additional details on the beautiful renovation can be found via Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. Let’s take a tour with images from John S. Banks Interiors, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles.
