Appreciate the beautiful rooms today. Though my home isn’t as big or as formal as these seems to be I always find some inspiration besides just enjoying the beauty. Have ag ood Monday!
Brooke Giannetti is married to Steve Giannetti, who is a fabulous architect in Southern California. Much of his work has been published and together he and his wife have a blog, Linen and Patina, as well as two books that they’ve published.
Oh yes, I love Brooke and Steve Giannetti! I found this dining room on their blog, but don’t think it is their work? I wish I knew who designed it! 🙂
Glorious. So, the last closeup photo shows that the wallpaper panels appear to overlap each other instead of lining up? I’m getting ready to install the wallpaper in my powder room (Designer’s Guild Orangerie) which lines up. Not sure which would be easier to put up!
Good eye! Yes, some of Gracie’s papers are “pieced” as shown in this picture, and others are not. Mine is pieced, I love the antiqued look of it. 🙂 I asked Jenn, and she said neither are easy, but experienced installers usually tell her they prefer to work with the pieced papers. It is still the same process to install.
I hope that helps, and I cannot wait to see your powder room!
I’m so thrilled for you, Andrea! (Jealous too !) you really deserve such a wonderful moment. Who wouldn’t do Gracie if they could?! Congratulations, and happiness to you and your family. Thank you for always sharing such gorgeousness (particularly that Becky Boyle dining room above which still takes my breath away!) xo Elizabeth
Excellent colour choice! I love blue for dining rooms – it’s so calming. Hope they have a Gracie paper hanger for you. It’s complicated, but so worth it. And that Bagues sconce! Ooh la la.
Thank you, Cynthia, I am beyond excited!! Bobby King – https://www.instagram.com/bobbykingwallcoverings/ – does all of the Gracie installations here in Dallas, and I have him booked for next month! 🙂
So happy and excited for you as I know you love chinoiserie and you have a very high taste level as we all know.
I’m absolutely certain that your dining room will be ravishing and that you’ll get so much pleasure and enjoyment from it as well as your family and friends- it’s a gracious background for entertaining of course.
Last year I had a decorative artist replicate a chinoiserie -wallpaper for the powder room and we chose white on gold I think it turned out extremely well and the client was happy with it too- it was a total jewel box.
I do think that using such a prominent firm as Gracie could actually affect the resale value of your property and of course if the new owner doesn’t like it it can be removed and taken with you. DF
Thank you, Dean! We cannot wait! Funny, I have had realtors tell me that Gracie papers absolutely do increase a home’s resale value. But I’m having Bobby back ours in muslin before installation… This allows for removal, just in case. 😉
I agree that the photo above does not look like the work of Brooke Giannetti. Her blog, Velvet and Linen, is a favorite, as are her books that feature their property, Patina Farm. Her husband, Steve, is an architect and they work together on many projects.
Gracie wall covering have to be among the most beautiful in the world. Can’t wait to see your dining room when it is complete!
I am so happy for you Andrea! I love Gracie wallpaper and the one you have chosen is my favorite as well, love that you will be adding some pink to the existing colorway as well…can’t wait to see the photos of your dining room…
i visited dallas a couple of years ago and for me it was love at first sight ! i particularly like the highland park area . . . it’s exceptionally beautiful and rarefied !
IT is going to be amazing. Lovely inspiration pieces. The wait is so hard but worth it!
