CeCe Barfield Thompson is a favorite here at The Glam Pad, so naturally we were delighted to learn of her new “Virginia Collection” available through Moda Operandi.
During the pandemic, CeCe and her family left New York City for her husband’s bucolic family home in Hot Springs, Virginia. Many meals at a table in her mother-in-law’s garden along with a treasured collection of antique linens that had been passed down over four generations served as the inspiration for The Virginia Collection. The collection’s heritage inspirations are a hopeful indication that entertaining and stylish evenings are no longer simply elements of bygone times, but a treasured art form returned to the forefront by the Grandmillennial generation.
Quality and craftsmanship are two hallmarks of this collection, and each piece was crafted to become a future heirloom. The linens are all embroidered in New York’s garment district on beautiful Belgian Linen, the plates are fine Limoges hand painted in Paris, and the silver plate cups are all hand made by master craftsmen in Instanbul.
In addition to the debut of her beautiful Virginia Collection, CeCe’s Gramercy apartment is featured on the cover of the May/June issue of Veranda… Let’s take a peek at both!
“I love setting a captivating table; it’s like a decorating project in microcosm, with pretty layers and playful details,” CeCe told Veranda. “I always include little touches to put people at ease, like place cards, dishes of nuts (for fidgety guests), and open bottles of wine so no one has to ask. Café chairs and sofa-ticking upholstery give the room an easygoing, garden air.”
