Zoë Feldman x Valsa, Augusta Cole at Dublin, and A Gilded Age Evening at the 92Y

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Zoë Feldman x Valsa, Augusta Cole at Dublin, and A Gilded Age Evening at the 92Y. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Zoë Feldman x Valsa

Interior designer Zoë Feldman has teamed up with Portuguese tableware brand Valsa for a charming new collection that celebrates the art of entertaining. Aptly named Afterparty, the collection brings together Zoe’s signature sense of color, whimsy, and irreverence to the table with beautifully hand-painted ceramics made in Portugal.

Inspired by the sort of dinner party that carries on well into the evening, the collection includes dinner and dessert plates, a serving platter, and a pitcher, all with playful motifs and an almoste nostalgic quality. There is something delightfully old-fashioned and a little kitschy about the designs, which feel equally at home on a beautifully dressed dining table or mixed and matched with treasured pieces collected over the years.

We particularly love the collection’s spirited approach, where a little fun is always welcome and nothing feels too precious. After all, the best dinner parties are rarely the most formal, but rather the ones where no one is in any hurry to leave. The full collection can be found here!

A Weekend with Augusta Cole at The Dunlin

With the holiday season fast approaching, we can think of few lovelier ways to get into the festive spirit than a weekend devoted to beautiful design and entertaining. Coming up November 13th and 14th, event planner extraordinaire Augusta Cole will join Auberge Collection at The Dunlin, its charming Lowcountry retreat along South Carolina’s Kiawah River, for a special weekend of holiday inspiration.

Part of The Dunlin Edit, a series celebrating design, craftsmanship, and the art of gathering, the weekend will bring together an incredible group of tastemakers and designers including Mieke ten Have and Young Huh for creative workshops and lively conversation. Some highlights include workshops on gift wrapping, and a special panel discussion moderated by entertaining expert Darcy Miller, featuring Augusta Cole and fellow design talents sharing their insights on seasonal decorating, thoughtful entertaining, and the art of creating memorable gatherings. The weekend will be full of inspiration just in time for the holidays.

Augusta will also be lending her wonderful eye to The Dunlin’s holiday decorations this year, incorporating beautiful Brunschwig & Fils textiles and thoughtful details throughout the property. It all sounds like a delightful excuse for a November weekend getaway! And stay tuned, as we’ll be sharing more from Augusta and her approach to holiday entertaining later this season.

A Gilded Age Evening at the 92Y

This one is for all the Gilded Age lovers! On November 19, New York’s 92Y will host a fascinating evening devoted to the extraordinary fashions of one of America’s most extravagant eras.

The conversation will bring together fashion historian Elizabeth L. Block, author of Gilded Age Fashion, celebrated jewelry historian Marion Fasel, and Kasia Walicka Maimone, the brilliant costume designer behind Julian Fellowes’ The Gilded Age, which returns to our screens on November 1st! Moderated by Jonathan Wahl, the discussion will give a closer look at the sumptuous gowns, jewelry, and extraordinary sense of spectacle that defined high society in late nineteenth-century New York.
