Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Artist Mary Maguire x Wallshoppe, Nina Campbell Furniture Comes Stateside, and Antiques at the Gardens. Written by Natalie Aldridge.
Artist Mary Maguire x Wallshoppe
This month, Wallshoppe is debuting a new collection with Connecticut-based artist Mary Maguire, translating her hand-painted works into wallpaper for the very first time. The patterns are colorful, playful, and just wild enough, ranging from Lovers Eye and Garden Follies to Strawberries, Cheetah, Red Egret, Purple Palms, and Sicilian Greenery. Each comes in multiple colorways, with the collection officially making its debut at High Point Market on October 17.

Mary herself has perhaps an even more colorful résumé. A Rhode Island native and RISD graduate, she began her career in publishing at Knopf before moving to Condé Nast, where she worked on projects for The New Yorker, Vogue, GQ, and Condé Nast Traveler. She later became Features Editor of Ralph Lauren’s LAUREN magazine and, in a career turn we absolutely love, Editorial Director for The Muppets, helping develop more than one hundred books a year.

Today, she works from her historic home in Hadlyme, Connecticut, which was once the town’s general store and post office. Somehow, knowing that makes these charming, slightly whimsical patterns make even more sense. Wallshoppe has managed to do more than simply translate Mary’s work to the walls. The collection captures the wit, color, and wonderfully imaginative spirit behind it. The full collection can be found here!

Nina Campbell Furniture Comes Stateside
Nina Campbell’s wonderfully English furniture collection is officially being made in America! Produced by Tomlinson, a Kravet company, Nina Campbell will now be making her upholstery and other pieces stateside. The partnership began rather serendipitously when Nina’s children, Max Konig and Alice Deen, bumped into Cary Kravet at High Point Market in 2024. What began as a conversation about the rather unglamorous realities of shipping furniture across the Atlantic has since become a full-fledged American collection.

What is most exciting to me as designer is that this will make specifying her collection much simpler and more economical. And apparently, Americans sit differently from the English. Who knew! Max explains that the team discovered subtle differences between the two markets while developing the collection, requiring little adjustments to make the pieces better suited to the way Americans live. Thankfully, the furniture retains all the Britishness we love about Nina Campbell.

The collection is also getting a proper American home at Ainsworth Noah in Atlanta’s ADAC, where Nina Campbell will open its first dedicated furniture showroom in the U.S. Atlanta has long been a stronghold for the brand, and the new space will bring its furniture, fabrics, and wallpapers together under one roof. We’ll happily take a little slice of England stateside. The full collection can be found here.
Antiques at the Gardens
Antiques at the Gardens returns to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens October 1st to 4th, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a particularly fabulous lineup of designers, collectors, editors, and, of course, antiques dealers.

Veere Grenney joins Architectural Digest’s Amy Astley; David Netto sits down with architects Richard Bories and James Shearron; and Rudy Saunders, Alexander Widener, and Max Sinsteden discuss The Making of a Collection with Frederic Magazine’s Hudson Moore. Rudy will also host a morning of needlepoint, muffins, and mimosas on Sunday, which sounds like an extremely civilized way to begin the day.
