At Home with Mark D. Sikes

One Kings Lane just published a tour of designer Mark D. Sikes' incredible California home, of which I can never get enough. Located in the Hollywood Hills, it is described as "East Coast pedigree meets California cool" with a masterful mix chinoiserie and canvas, sisal and silk, all commingling to create a sense of ease and elegance. “I guess it’s traditional,” says Mark. “But living here, there’s a connection to the outdoors that infuses a casualness into it.” Photography by Joe Schmelzer for One Kings Lane...

Beautiful by Mark D. Sikes

So beautiful! And speaking of "Beautiful" have you purchased Mark's new book? It is an absolute must have. In addition, Mark has created a fabulous clothing line, MDS Stripes, a line of rugs for Merida, furniture with Henredon, and a fabric collection for Schumacher. With the holidays approaching, you won't want to miss his fabulous line of wrapping paper. And his blog is one of my daily reads.

For more pictures and to read more about Mark's home, please visit One Kings Lane. There is also a specially curated sale so you can bring Mark  D. Sikes' signature style into your own home!

  1. The kitchen is pretty. Love the terrace with the aqua furniture and the DeGournay paper in the second bedroom. But it's not as colourful as most of his houses tend to be. It's a bit subdued for him. One of the things I love about his design is the strong colours he uses so well.

  3. I love any project that he touches. I have to say though that I memorized the House Beautiful feature on his home from several years ago and I am disappointed by a lot of the updates featured. I'm sure it is so hard for a creative person to ever feel like their house is finished! I just thought it was perfection before.
