Who else has fallen hopelessly in love with The Crown, Netflix’s $100 million production about the life of Queen Elizabeth? I have always been drawn to the British sensibility and passion for chintz when it comes to interior design, and I simply cannot get enough of the of The Crown’s fabulous sets. Fortunately, Joni at Cote de Texas loves them too, and she has written thorough analyses, which you can enjoy here, here, and here.
Back to British style… have you read the book On the Fringe: A Life in Decorating by Imogen Taylor yet? Imogen joined interior design firm Colefax and Fowler in 1949 and when John Fowler (known as the Prince of Decorators) retired in 1971, he passed on to her all his clients. Imogen, the Queen of Chintz, combines style bible with social memoir. I have already read it three times… it is that good!

Prince Albert's hair is still the same!
My perfume which gets me compliments from friends and strangers is charlie orginal blue by revlon.
I remember reading (back when I was in high school, and Diana had just married Prince Charles) that Diana wore Diorissimo (so, of course, I started wearing it 🙂 and then later, that she had liked Penhaligon's Bluebell. As for Creed, have you smelled Love in White? It's just amazing, as is their Green Irish Tweed for men.
I will have to try those! 🙂
XOXO,
The Glam Pad
Great.
I grew up 2 blocks from Princess Grace's childhood home. It fell into such disrepair under the prior owner. I look forward to it being restored and open to the public. It's always been sort of a mystery growing up near it – that allure of knowing that's where she grew up, and wanting to see inside, but never being able to.
