When you think of stereotypical beach house decor, this Newport Beach, California home designed by Barclay Butera, is not what comes to mind. With their primary home two hours inland, the owners were lured to the Southern California town’s proximity to the water, however, they wanted their retreat to reflect their love of classic and elegant decor. “This isn’t a beach house with an expansive backyard of sand and panoramic views of the ocean,” Barclay told Traditional Home. “My clients love living near the water, but they weren’t after a look that reads coastal.” So he created a timeless and classic home with a slightly unbuttoned formality to encourage relaxation. Let’s take a tour with images from Traditional Home (as watermarked) and from Barclay Butera’s portfolio.

This is my idea of coastal living , California style. The exterior is absolutely my style . Lucky people
Smart clients. Don’t like all coastal decor just because I’m at beach. Beautiful decorated!
