Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Home for the Holidays Showhouse, John Stefanidis: A Designer’s Eye, and a private portrait sitting with Nick Mele. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse

The Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse, now in its 10th year, is making a return this holiday season in Atlanta’s charming Chastain Park neighborhood! Presented by Pradera Group and hosted by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, this 15-day fundraiser benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and will feature some of Georgia’s top design talents. The showhouse will take place in a newly constructed California-inspired contemporary residence designed by Castro Design Studio in collaboration with Pradera Group, Kit Castaldo Design, Floralis, and Live Oak Manors.

Twenty-two Atlanta-based interior designers will work their magic on the home’s 12,000 square feet of living space, creating an awe-inspiring visual masterpiece that promises to amaze. Throughout the event, the showhouse will host a series of lively festivities and engaging interactive demonstrations.

The showhouse will be open for tours from November 16th to December 10th, excluding Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thanksgiving Day. General admission and special event tickets are available for purchase here with prices starting at $45. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the incredible design talent on display while supporting a worthy cause!

John Stefanidis: A Designer’s Eye

John Stefanidis’ work is characterized by a distinct and instantly recognizable style. Regardless of the project’s era, his portfolio remains timeless, a true testament to his exceptional talent and enduring design sensibility. With a career spanning over 50 years, the Egyptian-born and Oxford-educated Stefanidis is a legend in his own right and continues to be one of the world’s most sought-after designers.

Compiling five decades of work, his eagerly anticipated monograph, John Stefanidis: A Designer’s Eye, showcases how he has drawn inspiration from a diverse global array of influences for his interiors, furniture, and fabric collections. Established in Chelsea, London, in 1967, Stefanidis’ design practice has attracted a discerning international clientele, known for his thoughtful, vibrant, and beautiful homes around the globe.

If there’s a signature “Stefanidis look,” it combines an original use of vibrant colors, an eclectic aesthetic, a keen sense of proportions, and comfort paired with international sophistication. His interiors often feature custom elements like bronze door pulls, oak shutters, inlaid tables, or artisanal work such as wood marbling and floor mosaics. This lavishly illustrated retrospective, including images from prominent shelter magazines and unpublished photos from the designer’s archive, traces Stefanidis’s journey from his beginnings in the late 1960s to his most recent celebrated projects. We couldn’t be more excited to explore this book!
