Le Petit Versailles, Pooky Lighting, and Dorothy Draper Decorating Weekend

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Le Petit Versailles, Pooky Lighting, and the Dorothy Draper Decorating Weekend. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Le Petit Versailles

Just a short two-hour journey from Paris lies a captivating chateau steeped in history. Known affectionately as Le Petit Versailles, this chateau was meticulously crafted in the 18th century in Louis XV style and has served as a cherished residence for numerous aristocratic families over the years.

Encompassing an impressive 16,000 square feet, this opulent castle holds a collection of 30 meticulously appointed rooms, featuring lavish reception areas and opulent interiors reminiscent of a museum-worthy display.

Throughout its storied past, Le Petit Versailles has witnessed significant moments, including its noble role as a sanctuary for soldiers during World War I. Tragically, the ravages of World War II left the home significantly damaged. Following nearly two decades post-war, dedicated efforts led to a comprehensive restoration spanning seven years, breathing new life into the chateau under the stewardship of its devoted owners.

Now, standing as a revered historic monument in France, this distinguished property has come on the market once again, inviting discerning eyes to explore its magnificent interiors and embrace its timeless charm. Let have a look inside this remarkable abode!
