Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at GreenRow x New York Botanical Garden, Dorothy Draper Decorating Weekend, and Corey Damen Jenkins’ NYC Apartment. Written by Natalie Aldridge.
GreenRow x New York Botanical Garden
There are few places more inspiring than the New York Botanical Garden, particularly in the spring and summer months. What is perhaps most extraordinary, especially to designers, is its extensive archive, filled with centuries of botanical studies, rare books, and exquisitely rendered illustrations. Together, they serve as a beautiful reminder that nature has always been one of the world’s greatest decorators.

Now, GreenRow, a sustainable home furnishings company, is bringing a bit of that magic into the home with a new collaboration inspired by the New York Botanical Garden. Drawing from the Garden’s historic archives, the collection spans wallpaper, bedding, rugs, tabletop, linens, and decorative accessories, all interpreted through GreenRow’s signature vintage-inspired aesthetic.

What we especially love is that the collection feels more like a group of treasured finds than a traditional collaboration. Rich florals, painterly details, and timeless patterns evoke the charm of an old botanical folio, while hand-crafted elements lend the pieces a warmth and character that feels perfectly at home in today’s interiors.

Beyond the beauty of the designs themselves, the partnership also celebrates the enduring connection between interiors and the natural world. Better still, the collaboration supports NYBG’s ongoing work in plant science, conservation, and education, making it every bit as meaningful as it is lovely. Dorothy Draper Decorating Weekend
What is more instantly recognizable than the grand interiors of The Greenbrier. Since Dorothy Draper transformed the grand resort in 1946, her fearless use of color, exuberant patterns, and larger-than-life sense of glamour have made it one of America’s great decorating destinations and a pilgrimage site for design lovers everywhere.

This fall, The Greenbrier celebrates that remarkable legacy with its 10th Annual Dorothy Draper Decorating Weekend, a gathering dedicated to the enduring magic of Dorothy Draper & Company. Guests will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes through exclusive interior tours, design lectures, evening receptions, and even a visit to the upholstery workshop where the resort’s legendary interiors are lovingly maintained.

Perhaps most exciting of all is the chance to hear directly from the people carrying Draper’s legacy forward, including Dorothy Draper & Co. President Sebastian Varney, Design Director Rudy Saunders, and members of the celebrated design team. Equal parts master class and design fantasy, it will be a wonderfully colorful and inspiring weekend.

Longtime TGP readers may remember that we had the pleasure of attending and covering the event a couple years ago, and it remains one of our favorite design weekends. You can revisit our previous coverage here and here, and for those tempted to make the pilgrimage themselves, reservations and additional information can be found here.
Corey Damen Jenkins’ NYC Apartment
One of the great joys of seeing a designer’s own home is witnessing what happens when there are no client approvals, no committees, and no compromises beyond those of everyday life. Such is the case with Corey Damen Jenkins’ newly redone New York apartment, a home that feels deeply personal while showing the exuberant point of view that has made him one of today’s most celebrated designers.

Originally envisioned as a city pied-à-terre, the apartment ultimately became the primary home that Corey shares with his husband, Adam. The project was as much about bringing together two lives as it was two collections, blending decades of accumulated art, antiques, and furniture into a space that feels joyful, layered, and entirely authentic.

Rather than adhering to a single style, Corey embraces a wonderfully eclectic mix of antiques, mid-century finds, chinoiserie, and glamorous Deco-inspired lighting, all united by a rich palette of emerald, sapphire, garnet, black, and brass. We are especially fond of the deeply romantic details, from the antique map of Colombia honoring Adam’s heritage to the floor-to-ceiling chocolate silk drapery that transforms an otherwise uninspiring bedroom window into a moment of pure drama.

The result is a home that feels collected rather than decorated, proving once again that the most memorable interiors are often those that tell the story of the people who live within them.
