Schumacher’s Bohemia Collection, The Downeast Art & Antiques Show, and Mark & Graham’s Dorm Collection

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Schumacher’s Bohemia Collection, The Downeast Art & Antiques Show, and Mark & Graham’s Dorm Collection. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

The Downeast Art & Antiques Show

If your idea of a perfect summer weekend involves eighteenth-century furniture, maritime charm, and the possibility of stumbling upon the antique of your dreams, allow us to introduce the Downeast Art & Antiques Show in Castine, Maine. Returning August 12–15, America’s longest-running event of its kind brings together 34 distinguished dealers in one of New England’s most picturesque coastal towns. This year also marks an exciting new chapter as the show moves to the waterfront campus of Maine Maritime Academy.

But the show is only part of the allure. Throughout the weekend, Castine comes alive with collectors, designers, and antiques enthusiasts strolling the harbor, lingering over long lunches, and filling the town’s historic streets with an unmistakable buzz. A preview cocktail party kicks off the festivities on Wednesday evening, followed by a special book signing with honorary chair and TGP favorite Billy Cotton, architect Gil Schafer, and designer Libby Cameron.

Expect everything from English and American furniture to folk art, vintage couture, rugs, fine art, and decorative objects, all thoughtfully curated by some of the country’s leading dealers. Whether you’re hunting for a museum-worthy find or simply looking for an excuse to spend a few days along the Maine coast, this is one summer pilgrimage well worth making. After all, there are few things we love more than a charming New England town filled with beautiful antiques and equally beautiful people. Tickets can be purchased here!

Schumacher’s Bohemia Collection

From painterly florals and classic stripes to ikats, geometric motifs, and delicate embroideries, Schumacher’s Bohemia collection has us pining for a trip abroad, preferably somewhere with bustling markets, handwoven textiles, and a suitcase with plenty of room to spare. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship yet designed for today’s interiors, the collection draws inspiration from artisanal techniques and influences from around the globe.

Rich textures, hand-screened prints, and subtle variations celebrate the beauty of the handmade, creating the kind of collected, well-traveled aesthetic we never seem to tire of. Designed for mixing and layering, the collection makes pattern feel effortless rather than intimidating. Several standout designs, including Dalila Hand-Screened Print and Indah Batik, have also been translated into coordinating wallcoverings, making it even easier to envelop a room in pattern. Whether paired with their fabric counterparts or mixed with something entirely unexpected, they bring warmth, depth, and just the right amount of character.

If there’s one takeaway from Bohemia, it’s not to be afraid of mixing and matching. Layer florals with stripes, embroideries with ikats, and handcrafted textures with tailored classics. The most inviting interiors are rarely the ones that match perfectly. A little imperfection is almost always more interesting. We absolutely adore this collection, and you can explore the full line here.

Mark & Graham’s Dorm Collection

While summer is still in full swing, the school year is quickly approaching. Before we know it, college campuses will once again be buzzing with move-in day excitement. Every year, we look forward to seeing the chic dorm room transformations, clever organizational finds, and elevated back-to-school essentials. There’s something undeniably nostalgic about this season, even long after graduation.

Fortunately, Mark & Graham has entered the conversation with a dorm collection that is brimming with style. From scalloped bedding and monogrammed towels to polished storage bins, cosmetic cases, laundry bags, and travel accessories, the collection practical and adorable.

As expected, personalization is at the heart of it all, transforming everyday necessities into pieces that feel thoughtful, elevated, and unique. These are the kinds of pieces that make a tiny dorm room feel a little more like home while adding plenty of charm along the way.

While we may have been perfectly content with mismatched twin sheets back in our college days, today’s students seem to have far loftier design aspirations, and we’re all for it. Besides, it’s never too early to start collecting timeless pieces that will follow you well beyond graduation. Shop the full collection here!
