Another great post!
We used many, many Leron linens at the home of Shirley Johnston in Southport, CT- called “Bella Vista”
Shirley wrote the book “Palm Beach Houses” !
Oh my gosh Andrea! This series is so much fun and so interesting! I’m in Vienna on vacation and still had to drop all when I checked my email and saw this post! Thank you so much to Michael, Patricia and Luzanne for such a wonderfully amusing interview and to you, Andrea, for sharing!! Xo Elizabeth
I so enjoy seeing Patricia’s gracious living through the eyes of loved ones like Michael and Luzanne. It’s a delightful perspective. Oh to be a fly on the wall!
Lovely article but still so many questions (???). Did Michael’s occupational choice limit his own personal lifestyle? Did he marry, have children or find love somewhere along the way? How does his dedication to serve others affect his own dreams?
Michael is very private about his personal life, but he has had girlfriends along the way and they’re usually women he spends time with on the job. Michael noted that colleagues become like family and to be the best in the business, there simply isn’t time for much else. His life goal was living out his passion for service – a goal well met!
No one lives in the house with Mrs. A. Michael lives in a cottage on the property. It’s a charming brick building that is completely his own insofar as the interior is concerned. The rest of the staff lives in their own homes.
I too new Michael many years ago when my wife and I were planning a simple backyard wedding. To our delight, he brought a wonderful Salmon Mousse which was the classiest dish and focalpoint of our luncheon! Always kind and thoughtful and ever the gentleman! Not at all surprised by his success!
What a delightful post. Southern Charm is one of my favorite guilty pleasures and Michael is one of their best charms.

We all should be so lucky to have a companion so refined! My favorite part of the article has to be “comfort paper.” 🙂
If “Mrs.A” has Southern charm, then Michael has old world charm!

Wow! Great post!

Thank you. 🙂
Does Michael or any other staff reside in the house or in their own homes?

I have so enjoyed each of your posts from this series on “Mrs. A” !
I knew Michael many years ago. He was always very kind and sensitive. I’m happy for his success in the life he has chosen for himself.

That’s the Michael I know! Thank you for taking the time to share this fond memory of a great man.
