Featured in the January/February issue of House Beautiful, this two-bedroom Chicago apartment by Summer Thornton is spectacular! It is located in the Palmolive Building, a 1929 Art Deco landmark that overlooks Lake Michigan. Inspired by the apartment’s Deco pedigree and the homeowners’ passion for antiques, Summer worked with co-designer Jenny Holladay to create a plan for a posh, 1920s-inspired space that would be sophisticated but not stiff. “The wife is very stylish and had always dreamed of having a glamorous home. Now that the kids were out of the house, this was her opportunity to achieve that,” Jenny explains in House Beautiful. “We wanted to give her a space that felt like a gem in the middle of the city.” It’s “90% traditional, 10% fun,” Summer said on Instagram. Let’s take a tour with images from House Beautiful and Summer’s Instagram account!
