Banana Republic Home, Camille Albertine, and Alice Palmer & Co.

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Banana Republic Home, Camille Albertine, and Alice Palmer & Co.’s latest collection. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Banana Republic Home

A venerable icon in the world of fashion since 1978, Banana Republic now sets its sights on the world of refined living with the grand debut of BR Home. This collection boasts an array of luxurious bedding, rugs, pillows, and decor, and is slated to carry the brand’s renewed identity of ease and sophistication.

The label’s first forayed the concept quietly in the fall of 2022 with the introduction of ART, Curated by Banana Republic—a collection of exclusive masterpieces crafted by esteemed artists and photographers. Now, the initial collection has been released in 16 of the company’s 400 stores as well as online.

In the early 2000s, a newly reimagined Banana Republic, began to offer home a collection. Within the confines of its stores, a meticulously curated array of bed and bath merchandise could be found in the back of the selling floor. While coveted, the line was phased out.

Camille Albertine

Occasionally, an item of pure beauty appears before your eyes that simply leaves you captivated. One such item came across my Instagram feed while scrolling one evening not long ago. A silk faille and Duchesse satin rose bouquet fashioned handbag leaped out at me. I was smitten and needed to know more.

Meet Camille Doyle, the creative mind behind Camille Albertine, handmade-to-order handbags. Having studied fashion design and fine arts in Montreal, Doyle has been crafting her own clothing and costumes for many years. Over time, she skillfully incorporated complementary bags to complete her ensembles. Eventually feeling compelled to showcase her creations to a wider audience, Doyle debuted Camille Albertine, a combination of her first name and her great-grandmother Albertine.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail in limited editions, her work epitomizes femininity and playfulness, crafted with meticulous attention to detail in limited editions. Drawing inspiration from the regal allure of royal wardrobes, the allure of theater costumes, the charm of vintage handmade bags, and the structural elegance of architecture, each piece exudes a unique and enchanting aura.

All pieces are crafted by Camille herself using silk faille and Duchesse satin. Take a look!
