The Estate of Baroness Rawlings, Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach 2025, and Serena & Lily’s New Year Sale

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at the estate of Baroness Rawlings, Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach 2025, and Serena & Lily’s New Year Sale Written by Natalie Aldridge.

The Estate of Baroness Rawlings

Nicknamed the “Baroness Thrift” for her tips on managing a stately home on a budget, Baroness Patricia Elizabeth Rawlings is back in the spotlight with the upcoming auction of her from her London property, and the historic collection of Adlington Hall in Cheshire.. A woman of many chapters, Lady Rawlings has captivated interest with her stately homes, including Burnham Westgate Hall, designed by Sir John Soane, and her tenure in the European Parliament. She even made headlines in 1971 when her ex-fiancé, American oil tycoon, dramatically demanded the return of £250,000 worth of jewels.

Thomas Bardwell (British 1704-1767), ‘Views of Adlington Hall and Park’, oil on canvas, a set of four

Set to go to auction January 22nd at London’s Dreweatts, the Eaton Square collection is a testament to her impeccable taste and cosmopolitan sensibility. As a former President of the British Antique Dealers’ Association, she selected each piece with an expert eye for beauty and historical significance. This collection is truly a masterclass in harmony, contrast, and beauty.

Highlights of the auction include Marie Laurencin watercolors, Lynn Chadwick’s abstract bronze Magnette for the Trigons, Marc Chagall lithographs from Exodus, and a stunning 18th-century giltwood console table. This auction offers a rare glimpse into a life lived with a deep appreciation for art, history, and the enduring stories behind every piece.

We’re delighted to share with you the stellar lineup of designers and architects participating in the highly anticipated Eighth Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach! This year’s masterpiece will be set at 1125 North Flagler Drive in the charming Providencia Park neighborhood.

A total of 23 of the nation’s most acclaimed design talents will work their magic, completely reimagining the home into a showcase of creativity and style.  Built in 1937, this charming house is classic Florida but could certainly use a dose of character it has surely lost throughout the decades.
