A Sophisticated Jungle Safari Nursery

As the mother of a nine week old baby, naturally I spend quite a bit of time in his nursery. You may recall I decorated it as part of the Calling it Home One Room Challenge. One of the most important factors for me when decorating my son's room was to create a space he could grow into.  So when I saw this incredible, sophisticated nursery by Maddie Hughes Designs, I positively swooned. I am obsessed with Scalamandre's Zebras, and this space definitely made my heart skip a beat.

Hughes' client didn't want typical colors like pink or blue, but instead she wanted the nursery to be somewhat gender neutral. She also wanted to make sure that it could eventually transition into a bedroom for someone of any age.  The husband only had one request and that was the Scalamandre Zebra wallpaper. Yes, please! In addition, this nursery includes jungle safari elements, a fabulous vintage-inspired brass sputnik light fixture, a Dorothy Draper-inspired changing table, and fun pops of color. Here are some highlights, as featured by Rue...

Such a lucky baby boy! This room will easily transition into a big boy room as he gets older. To read more about this nursery and view the entire tour, please visit Rue and Maddie Hughes' blog. You can also tour Hughes' own home, decorated with her former boss Bailey McCarthyhere!
