Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Jennifer Hunter Design collection for Paste, a tribute to the legendary fashion icon, Iris Apfel, and a Dorothy Draper Decorating Weekend recap. Written by Natalie Aldridge.
Jennifer Hunter Design x Paste
Interior designer Jennifer Hunter Design has collaborated with the collage art company Paste to create an exceptional collection of botanical collages. Inspired by the captivating stair gallery commissioned by Jennifer for her recently completed Connecticut home, this exclusive collage series pays homage to her profound admiration for the beauty of nature.

We were initially captivated by these little beauties when Jennifer started teasing glimpses of her home on her inspiring Instagram page. Meticulously crafted by Denise with unparalleled skill, this collection breathes life into Jennifer’s beloved flowers in a vibrant and contemporary fashion. Radiant and playful, these collages infuse homes with the ideal touch of organic charm.
What truly enamors us about these enchanting collages is their heirloom quality blended seamlessly with a modern twist. Like a jubilant celebration of vitality and exuberance, we are genuinely excited to introduce this collection to you! The Botanicals are available here for purchase as original collage artwork or as giclée prints.

A Tribute to Iris Apfel
On March 1st, the curtain fell on the fashion legend and “geriatric starlet,” as Iris Apfel, aged 102, took her final bow. Her life was a vibrant tapestry of color and vitality, reflecting her iconic sense of style. From her inception as an interior design maven, scouring the globe for vintage treasures and founding Old World Weavers in 1950, to her unexpected rise as a global fashion muse, Apfel blazed her own trail with flamboyance, wit, and those unmistakable oversized glasses.

In 2005, Iris left the fashion world buzzing when she made history as the first non-fashion designer to steal the spotlight at the revered Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibit unveiled a handpicked array from her remarkable clothing and jewelry collection, showcasing her unrivaled flair for the extraordinary. In 2014, her unmistakable style stole the show in the acclaimed documentary “Iris,” solidifying her position as an unparalleled icon of individuality and sartorial splendor.

Since my teenage years, Iris has been a beacon of inspiration and guidance for me. Her legacy of unapologetic self-expression has been instrumental in my journey of self-discovery and defining my personal style. She epitomizes the notion that genuine style transcends age barriers, affirming that the art of dressing is indeed a profound form of self-expression.
