It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and The Glam Pad was excited to kick off the season this weekend by unveiling our annual “Christmas with the Tastemakers” holiday shopping guide! Today we are thrilled to take you inside the festive world of one of our 2024 Tastemakers, Lauren E. Lowe, founder of Lauren Elaine Interiors in Atlanta. We are huge fans of Lauren’s work, and over the years we’ve enjoyed watching her deck the halls for the holidays. Today we will journey to Christmas Past, exploring the gorgeous Butler’s Pantry Lauren designed for a previous Atlanta Home for the Holiday Showhouse and also the beautiful home she designed for stationer Brent Ellis, owner of Dear Elouise.
And stay tuned as Friday we will tour Lauren’s own home, donned in holiday finery. She will also share a few of her favorite tips for creating a festive tablescape!

I love to give something that can be used immediately. Not put to the side and forgotten about… so wine charms, cocktail picks, and Christmas decorations…I also love to pair a wine stopper with a lovely bottle of wine, cocktail picks with a jar of luxury olives… you get the idea! Or tie an ornament around the neck of a bottle and add a big fabulous bow…
BEST STOCKING STUFFERS
I think luxury beauty products are the BEST stocking stuffers (Westman Atelier is fab!) and call me traditional but Paul Smith socks for the boys. And always a tangerine in the toe!
GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN
Always art supplies! Watercolour sets, and colored pencils... It’s so delightful to have a fresh box to work with on Boxing Day!
All about travel! Let’s try to sneak away for the weekend at the Soho house we haven’t been to… maybe Barcelona?
GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS
I am obsessed with the hand-decorated beautifully packaged truffles from The Cordial Cherry. Each collection is exquisite and it arrives in a beautiful toile box with fresh greenery.
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR WISHLIST?
This is not glamorous at all but I would love some new kitchenware- Sabre spoons and the new Le Creuset mauve colour is amazing!!! the color of my roses!
Mommy Cusses – Park Place Midtown Find a fun and sassy book from your favorite local shop. This great find is available at my sister-in-law’s shop in Columbus, GA, and I love the opportunity to support small businesses whenever possible.
You can’t go wrong with a Taco Bell gift card. It is unexpected, adding a bit of fun to your holiday gathering.
GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN
This year, I’m all into experiences for the children in my life. Plan a surprise trip for you all to travel together, making memories along the way. I’d love to help plan, and you can learn more by reaching out via my website.
For someone in your life who loves to cook, Tom Parker Bowles, Camilla’s son, just released his cookbook, and I’m personally hoping someone gifts this to me!
I’ve been wishing for a personalized pendant necklace for a while now, and I was recently turned on to the FoundRae brand. I love that this necklace is simple yet elegant. Plus, the website is easy to navigate, which I always very much appreciate. I hope this finds its way under my tree.
Legos are a wonderful gift for all kids and who doesn’t want to give their children the opportunity to create!
GIFTS FOR PETS
What pet wouldn’t love a custom treat box from Biscuiteers.com, monogrammed and packaged so adorably.
GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER
We love to travel and what could be better than giving a weekender bag with an itinerary for a trip away together slipped in the pocket! Don’t forget to make dinner reservations as well
GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS
A gift for all those hard working teachers a 30-90 minute massage would be a welcome gift!
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?
A trip to London to do Christmas shopping and see all the holiday sights!
This year, I’m making homemade mulling spices/stovetop potpourri as the hostess gift I’ll be giving out. There is nothing better than a house that smells of mulling spices at the holidays + the homemade aspect adds extra warmth and love to the gift.
Directions to make your own mulling spices/stovetop potpourri:
1/2 cup cranberries, 1 small orange, 1 spring of rosemary or pine, 1 tablespoon of cloves, 1 tablespoon allspice berries, 1-2 star anise, and a couple cinnamon sticks.
Be sure to tie on a little tag with directions to slice the orange, drop the ingredients in a pan, add water to cover, and simmer on low to make the whole house welcoming and fragrant.
I love to gift my boys things they will immediately engage and play with (like Legos) but, as the gift giver, I find the most joy and meaning in gifting them special items they can have forever or will enjoy all throughout their childhood. The personalized stools by Palaka are the perfect gift that fits this bill! My oldest son has a little antique pine stepping stool by his bed that he uses to climb into bed. However, I know he’d love a personalized one with his name on it and a motif he adored!
My husband needs a new card case so I’ve had my eye out. I think the bespoke card cases from Anya Hindmarch are fantastic! To have a child’s handwriting embossed on it – this would warm my husband’s heart every time he reached for it in his back pocket.
My other top recommendation is pickle ball paddles from Short Court. They make an excellent gift that will get you outside and moving with your significant other. I just love the whole brand!
GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS
A sensational teacher or neighbor gift if these paperwhite bulbs. They are the best and always bring a smile.
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?
I love a Christmas pajamas moment. Christmas pajamas are sweet, special, and sentimental to me. This year, at the top of my list is some cozy mornings and evenings at home with my boys by our tree reading books, playing games, telling stories, and drinking hot cocoa. Those simple times at home are what make the holidays so rich! To bring this back to my wishlist, I’d love to be wearing this holiday gingham nightgown with my boys wearing this coordinating gingham pajamas set (if you have daughters, this coordinating girls nightgown is darling).
I’ve also been coveting a porcelain flower from Vieuxtemps Porcalin for my dining room.
Last Christmas, I thought long and hard about getting a Loren Hope crystal Christmas tree and I didn’t do it. Fast forward a year, and I’m still thinking about these vintage-inspired beauties. She has three gorgeous ones to choose from: one, two, three. I’ve also been searching the internet for antique Czechoslovakian jeweled Christmas trees!
Finally, I’d really love and cherish a set of holiday China. The problem is that I can’t settle on a pattern. I’ve been thinking about this for years though so it is time to decide and starting slowly gifting it to myself, ha! A traditional holiday pattern, a modern take on holiday china, or something fanciful that isn’t overtly holiday like Ginori’s Oriente Italiano tableware… oh, what’s a girl to choose?
It would be my dream to have one of these for our beloved Scottish Folds and Tabby. And my favorite pot pourri that we use for the house is here which is great for homes that have pets.
My favorite gift to bring to friends who are entertaining us is a great bottle of wine wrapped in a vintage hand embroidered guest towel. I typically find these at our local antique shops, but Etsy and Ebay are also great sources for these.
BEST STOCKING STUFFERS
Scratchers are a tradition in my family – we love seeing if we win anything big while having our Christmas Day breakfast. Usually we only win $5 or $10 – but it’s the thrill of it that makes them so fun!
GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN
My girls are now 5 and 7 and absolutely love making friendship bracelets. We love finding gifts for them that they can use for a while and get creative with.
GIFTS FOR PETS
Our loveable lab, Grady, can destroy just about any toy we give him, so to avoid the mess, we love to give him a new Kong toy with treats hidden inside. It helps keep him occupied while we open gifts (and he won’t grab ribbon or paper while we aren’t looking!).
GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER
I love collecting and gifting my husband vintage barware to add to his bourbon bar that he has in his home office. They are beautiful and also practical pieces that he will have forever.
GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS
For our neighbors and wonderful teachers, I love to give beautiful potted paperwhites or amaryllis bulbs. I adorn them with a beautiful velvet ribbon to add a festive touch.
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?
I love collecting vintage jewelry with opal stones, as my girls are both October babies. I plan to hand these down to the girls as they get to be older.
First, please don’t use the word gift. A gift is something you get free with purchase. Friends and loved ones give presents.
My favorite hostess gift is chic cocktail napkins. I like that they’re oversized as they work for drinks or hors d’oeuvres. The white on sky blue are my favorites. It’s a useful, lasting present and eco-friendly. Being handed a paper cocktail napkin is like being told you’re welcome here, but I couldn’t be bothered.
BEST STOCKING STUFFERS
I was just in Ocala Florida (if you don’t have a horse don’t bother … but if you do have a horse, the show circuit there has seriously upped its game) and found Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop. It’s a massive store filled with every retro candy from the 70’s and 80’s. Who doesn’t want a stocking stuffed with 5th Avenue or Babe Ruth Bars or Mallo Cups? PS regarding showing in Ocala, find a friend with a plane and fly direct.
GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN
Matt Austin is one of my all time favorite artists to work with on interiors. He’s also turned his genius to children’s toys, which include chalk sculptures as well as whimsical wooden animals; go for the gold leaf if you’re having a banner year.
My husband buys what he wants when he wants it so holidays are difficult. However, every man, woman, or child every ten years or so could all use a new alligator belt and Ralph Lauren’s are the best. Never throw away the old ones however. No matter how ratty they’re great with jeans. I wear mine until they literally fall off.
Two options. A few years ago I designed a small collection of bronze and marble tables and lamps for Maison Gerard. I’d really love to own one of my own tables.
Alternatively, although I don’t really think men should wear gold watches until they’re very very very old (which I’m not) I’ve always loved the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph with a champagne dial. Young men wear discrete gold watches. Age allows you to be a bit bolder.
With so much junk out there and questionable oils, I love to gift this combo set of this specialty Spicy Olive Oil and soap set from Flamingo Estate. I know the quality is true and it’s not something that my host or hostess is bound to already have. Their products are some of my favorites.
GIFTS FOR PETS
Nothing says fab holiday pet like a Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater…for dogs. They really have the best, most festive red color. I have the human version!
GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER
I’ve been eyeing these classic cufflinks from Tiffany and Co for someone special. What makes them great is the personalization opportunity which makes the cufflinks even more unique and intentional.
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?
Since my late grandfather gifted me all of his vintage western pieces, I’m talking belts, buckles, gorgeous hats and bolos, I’ve been slowly growing my collection. I wear most of it and I think this 1940’s Concho Belt would be an incredibly beautiful piece to own and wear – especially during the holidays.
This set is a go to hostess gift and I just love all the little words of wisdom on each one. They are great little ice breakers to go around the table and share.
BEST STOCKING STUFFERS
These fun socks make the perfect practical and cozy stocking stuffer for your favorite New Yorker or New York- lover!
These little glass cork safes are a fun alternative to bringing a bottle of wine to a party.
I keep a bunch of these little mini shell dishes on hand to give as hostess gifts year-round. You can never have enough tiny little dishes in a well decorated home. Pair one of these with some little mini holiday candies for a festive hostess gift.
I love giving little holiday plants as hostess gifts. Grab a little lemon cypress tree and tie a little silk bow on top and place in one of these marbled cachepots.
BEST STOCKING STUFFERS
A little collectible trinket dish is a nice surprise in a stocking. I separate the pair and stuff into Mom or Mother-in-law stockings.
I love including little gourmet food items in stockings. This lemon artichoke pesto is a treat.
The Maison Marie Louis No. 5 is my favorite candle for the home and these perfume oil minis are perfect stocking stuffers.
I always buy little packages of Wikki Stix for my kid’s stockings.
GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN
These personalized kids aprons will be a hit at my house for my little mini chefs who always love to help cook. If you are local to Atlanta, you can have anything you purchase at the Weezie store monogrammed on the spot at their new Embroidery Bar.
We already have a set of these little colored pencils at home and it is the only set of coloring supplies that actually stays together. The kids enjoy putting each pencil back in rainbow
order, which thrills me!
My three-year-old daughter loves wearing all her winter accessories year-round, so she will be getting this hat and mittens set this year.
My kids enjoy decorating their own mini tree for their bedrooms and they will love this mini felt ornament set. I love the idea that these little ornaments will be part of their childhood memories for years to come.
GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER
Love Schostal and my husband loves Alex Mill, so he will be getting a pair of these pajamas this year.
I always buy my husband a tie for Christmas and giving a Ben Silver tie is like giving a little piece of Charleston prep.
Clothes are always an easy gift for husbands. The textured gray of this Canali vest is a nice alternative to your standard black vest. and this wool-cashmere turtleneck will be extra snuggly on him this season.
I buy a bunch of sets of these Odd McLean marbled taper candles every year to give to teachers
A package of custom paper guest towels customized with your neighbor or teacher’s house number sourced from somewhere like Etsy or Zazzle makes a great gift because you can gather all the address numbers you need ahead of time and place one big order. Pair with a simple guest towel tray.
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?
I ordered the discovery set from Regimes des Fleurs and sat at a little dessert spot with my husband on a date to test them all. We liked the way Nitesurf Neroli smelled on my skin, but I am also a big fan of Falling Trees.
I’ve been on the hunt for statement snake bracelet ever since I saw Sylvie wearing one on an episode of Emily in Paris, so hoping Santa brings me this one!
An early 1900’s figurative ink drawing by Polish born New York Expressionist Jennings Tofel to add to my art collection.
I’ve had my eye on one of these marbled valet trays in crepaldi green nonpareil paper for my office.
For my husband I think this speaker is kind of cool
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?
Time with my entire crew and my husband always finds me pretty items that he knows I love. This scarf from Hermès is lovely and in my favorite color, brown
Wicker Pet Bed for the petit pooches out there, this cozy little hut is so cozy and stylish.
GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER
I love the idea of gifting each other art, it’s a wonderful way to start a collection and hunting for art is a fantastic date night idea.
GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS
SWIRL FOLIOS from Stephanie Fishwick fall under “I wouldn’t by that for myself but love it” category. These gorgeous folios will update anyone’s keepsakes.
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?
A restored 1954 VW Bus from Kindred Motorworks. My parents and grandparents drove Volkswagon vans so they are so nostalgic for me. This refurbished, and electafied one is TDF. Pretty please Santa!
Puzzle: I gave a puzzle to everyone who works with my children last year, along with a handwritten note of our appreciation (don’t forget the value in those!)

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look Carlos Mota’s collection for Loretta Caponi, Maria de la Orden London pop-up, and Timothy Corrigan’s latest Schumacher collection. Written by Natalie Aldridge.
Carlos Mota for Loretta Caponi
There is nothing quite like the work of Loretta Caponi. Her enchanting linens embody the perfect marriage of Italian artisanry and timeless style. Each piece, steeped in the Florentine brand’s rich heritage, tells a story in intricate prints and delicate stitches, nodding to history while winking at modern style. With Caponi, it’s never just linens; it’s an heirloom-in-the-making with a dash of old-world femininity and a sprinkle of unexpected flair.
In a new collaboration, interior designer and tastemaker Carlos Mota introduces a fresh layer of sophistication to the Loretta Caponi repertoire. After months of creative exchange, Creative Director Lucia Caponi and her son, Guido, brought Mota’s vision to life through a series of luxurious linen collections, each uniquely inspired yet united by Caponi’s signature craftsmanship.
Reflecting their shared dedication to artistry and meticulous detail, collection includes exquisitely crafted bed linens, napkins, placemats, towels, and more, presented in three distinct lines that celebrate nature, refined living, and classic European charm all embodying an artisanal approach to design. Each piece is truly an heirloom set to be cherished for generations to come.
All items in the collection are hand crafted and are now available for pre-order here!

Today, we are sharing some of our favorite rooms from the Show House, and stay tuned to Instagram as we will be sharing video highlights… Enjoy!
“Her Retreat,” designed by CeCe Barfield Inc., offers a contemporary reimagining of the classic lady’s dressing room. A sanctuary of introspection and serenity, the room draws inspiration from the elegant, layered sitting rooms that adorned Lee Radziwill’s London home, crafted by the legendary Renzo Mongiardino in the mid-20th century. Barfield collaborated with deGournay to create bespoke wallpaper, its delicate floral patterns and geometric lines evoking the intricate splendor of Rajasthani palace décor. The tranquil yet verdant color palette seamlessly unites the room with the adjoining terrace. A curated collection of fine antiques and artwork—ranging from 18th-century French and English pieces to mid-century Scandinavian designs—reflects the taste and curiosity of a worldly, self-assured woman. The space exudes a harmonious balance of order, beauty, and timeless elegance. Luxe, calme, et volupté.
“La Chambre d’Enfants” by Katie Davis is a room destined for the youngest sophisticate and the sweetest dreams. The whimsical garden-inspired space begins as you pull back the powder-blue patterned curtains by Sanderson and step into the tented world of Katie Davis Design, awash in speckled prints and botanical motifs. The cozy, period charm of Katie’s modern English Country aesthetic is ever-present. Swaths of pattern, though playful by nature, feel mature with Iksel’s sophisticated ivory floral striped wallpaper—inspired by the borders of 17th-century Mogul miniatures—classic ticking stripes, and checked patterns all set in a muted palette. The green checkered Schumacher canopy overhead is hemmed in by a cheerful scalloped valance, trimmed in blue. A pair of vintage Colonial-style Moosehead twin beds anchor the room, mingling with modern-day furnishings like Oomph’s high-gloss console and skirted benches by Lee Jofa; the bedding layers hand-drawn floral prints from Soane Britain and antique-inspired sprigged stripes by Robert Kime—a mix of old and new for which Katie is known. A contemporary kilim rug by English Village Lane in Katie’s signature blue stretches across the floor; while a lantern by Colleen & Company introduces a bold tomato tone and shines light on the details of this room.
Welcome to The Citrus Garden! Join Courtnay Tartt Elias and Creative Tonic Design in the HEART of the Kips Bay Dallas Decorator Show House Dallas’ kitchen-a vibrant sanctuary where memories are made, meals are shared, and the joys of a new chapter in life are savored. Here, the lady of the house finds herself in a season of renewal. With her three children grown and flown, this once bustling heart of the home has been transformed into The Citrus Garden, where cooking for two, entertaining lifelong friends, and relaxing take center stage. This kitchen reflects her most treasured memories of traveling through verdant gardens in Italy and sojourns to Provence, where the sweet search for tarte citrons is always on the itinerary.
Enveloped by Nicolette Mayer’s (through Scalamandre) impressionistic Peony Inspira metallic grasscloth wallpaper, she can almost hear birds singing. Fanciful brass lemon trees, hand-forged by Peck & Co., climb up from the island’s latticed base, inviting her and beloved dinner companions to kick off their shoes and dance through dinner preparations … or maybe just artfully plate their take-out! Overhead and showcased across the island, a whimsical cast of plaster flora, fauna, and garden creatures, brought to life by Segreto Finishes, seem to smile as she pauses to fill her glass at the limoncello-spritzer refrigerator. Adding an artful note, the millwork is bejeweled in Modern Matter Hardware.
Recreating meals from travels abroad feels effortless as JennAir’s paneled appliances and beautiful range hum beneath expanses of deep green marble from Taxila and installed by Il Granito. Kohler’s Aspen-green sink, beautiful bridge faucet, and deck-mounted brass pot filler make prepping, preparing, and cleaning up Bolognese a breeze. Gracing the marble archway in the dining alcove, Colefax and Fowler’s trumpet vine fabric with Manuel Canovas variegated fringe-trim artfully sewn on Wells Textile’s Rose Cumming yellow silk, is beautifully custom-made into sweeping drapery by The Shade Store. Inside, the vintage Show Pony lemon tole-chandelier delicately hangs above a bespoke plaster floral table, crafted by Segreto Finishes, and a sculptural banquette, 1st Dibs garden chairs and two pagoda side tables wrapped in Sanderson fabrics all custom-built by House and Town. The table is set with deGournay porcelain and bespoke embroidered linens by Mary Mack. The beautiful art photography from Koslov Larsen is by artist JP Terlizzi and the fun ceramic telephone is by Brock deBoer and all the rugs are by Arsin Rugs. Above the banquette hang whimsical vases by artist Liz Marsh and a murano glass mirror from Janet Weibe. The Citrus Garden is filled with dancing music every day courtesy of Christopher William Lifestyle Technology.
In this place, love blooms in cooking and stolen kisses, the air is alive with joy, and no matter how far her birds may soar, they will always find a seat at the table. Ever in color, ever in art, The Citrus Garden is where dancing, dreaming, reminiscing, pouring, and, of course, celebrating are always on the menu!
Kate Figler’s drawing room is a whimsical oasis of European feminine elegance, evoking a dreamy villa-like charm with ethereal hues and graceful accents. Blending traditional design with contemporary elements, the room exudes a timeless allure with soft, curved lines. Inspired by Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus,” the room radiates sophistication with Gracie’s Linda’s Garden mural wallpaper depicting a lush garden scene in soothing greens, pinks and blues, reminiscent of ancient Roman frescoes.
Nature’s gentle influence can be seen throughout, with delicate oceanic accents such as a seafloor-inspired sofa fabric and a scalloped banquette that mirrors the undulating waves of the sea. Highlighted by STRIKE’S fluted limestone fireplace and Arteriors’ Encinitas chandelier, the room is adorned with delicate, feminine touches such as the hand-painted valance in Perennial’s Sheen Queen fabric, upholstery embellished with tassel fringe, a lacquered “shell” pink ceiling and an abundance of florals. A modern bar cabinet complete with Artistic Tile’s Vivaldi Quartzite blends hues of green, mauve and ivory creating a refreshing juxtaposition.
Kate envisions this space as a sanctuary for women to gather, connecting over cocktails and conversation in a setting that emanates beauty and warmth.
The Whimsical Drawing Room, designed by Heather and Matt French, co-principals of the Santa Fe-based French and French Interiors, offers a vibrant reinterpretation of a traditional drawing room, blending American heritage with contemporary design. At its heart is a custom hand-painted mural by Gracie Studio, depicting an early American landscape in a soft yet vivid palette of blues, greens, and earth tones, set against an antiqued background. Millwork and trim in Benjamin Moore’s “Coats of Arms,” a smoky teal, create a bold contrast and add depth to the space.
Sanderson’s Regency Aperigon fabric in Porcelain/Chamomile—a collaboration with London-based couture designer Giles Deacon—tents the ceiling with a classic stripe in a satin sheen, subtly infused with Ancient Greek geometric influences. This fabric also upholsters the sofa from Coley Home, creating a seamless blend of old and new. Complementary fabrics adorn the banquettes and accent chairs, with slate blue mohair on the chairs and a white linen blend with bay blue welts on the banquettes. A mix-and-match arrangement of mohair-upholstered dining chairs adds a touch of playful elegance to the dining table.
Case goods and table furniture from Arteriors bring a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, while abstract art from Co.Collect by artist Sherron Francis introduces a contemporary edge, creating a dynamic contrast with the traditional mural. The Whimsical Drawing Room is a celebration of design, where tradition meets modernity in a space that is both inviting and exuberant, ideal for lively gatherings.

Drawing on the noteworthy beauty, unmistakable charm, magical intrigue, and simultaneous sense of place and escape, Lisa Henderson Interiors examines the secret sanctuary of an English garden—a place sought-after and beloved by people around the world that transcends time. Taking on Britain’s renowned heritage and mastery of quintessential, spell-bounding grounds, Lisa’s interpretation perfectly captures the essence of the English garden with her blend of pretty patterns, variety of hand-crafted textures, and happy, colorful hues within a space that’s designed supremely for both comfort and beautiful livability. The overall atmosphere heightens the senses and fuels the imagination while simultaneously providing an almost familiar-like place to exhale—all sensibilities found within the juxtaposition of the English countryside. The real English rose in the room is the floral pattern selected for the drapes, which were custom-made by The Shade Store, and wallcovering sourced from Lisa’s own textile collection, also aptly named The English Garden.
The English Garden bedroom is the perfect place to slow down, rest, and enjoy vignettes of favorite—and personal—pieces and places, including Carly Beck’s pet portrait of two treasured pups, original daffodil artwork by Donald Roberson (a nod to Wordsworth’s “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud”), and Natalie Obradovich’s mesmerizing Italian seascape, as well as a host of tabletop and bar accessories—perfect for unwinding in the inviting seating area after a day spent outdoors. Guests feel a sense of wonder in the nature-inspired interiors that harken to the outside world while embracing the respite found within. Lisa Henderson Interiors expertly enhances each client’s daily routine with a beautiful place to call home. Lisa’s classically comfortable interiors are known across the country for their sophisticated blend of livability and timelessness.
We set out to design a dining room that could be used for a host of gatherings. We gained inspiration from a 1948 photo for the cover of Vogue magazine by Cecil Beaton. The photo shows impeccably dressed women gathered in a perfectly gorgeous space outfitted with ornate plaster moldings. The photo evokes the anticipation of a glamorous night ahead. Our goal was to create a similarly beautiful space for today’s generation of women preparing for a fabulous evening in 2024.
We were faced with a long, narrow room that had no direct natural light filtering through. We also noted a center walkway that provides a thoroughfare from the Rotunda to the Salon. We saw an opportunity to create a space for cocktails and an easy flow into an expandable dining room area. Gracie wallcovering is the heart of this space. The metallic custom blue background highlights florals and branches to give the feeling of being outdoors. Beautifully draped entry points create the illusion of windows thanks to The Shade Store. Ornate ceiling details and millwork are highlighted by Gossamer Blue by Benjamin Moore paint. Casci Ornamental added even more details with their plaster mirror surround like those found throughout France. Kravet and Sanderson provided luxurious fabrics to cover our custom banquettes and detailed pillows. We sought to add drama in the Entryway with a textural Arteriors fixture.
Antique chandeliers with Murano style glass were introduced from Legacy Antiques that are a centerpiece for each space. Christopher William Technology provided the lighting control and audio throughout and made the atmosphere complete. Unique customized furniture from Hickory Chair allowed us to bring even more character to the space. The dining chairs showcase metallic details which stand out against the high gloss dining table painted in Antique Rose by Benjamin Moore. A delicious rufous tone armless sofa with detailed box pleats from Hickory Chair completes the cocktail area. Bolster pillows were added to the armless sofa in a colorful striped Jagtar fabric. Elegant drink tables from Arteriors grounded the space and paired nicely with the sofa and banquettes. Beautiful columns from Wolf Hall Antiques were introduced to display elegant florals. All these pieces are sitting atop exquisitely crafted rugs from The Rug Company.
Designers could not create such gorgeous spaces without the help of generous sponsors and the support of the amazing Kips Bay Show House leadership team. All this helps to keep Kips Bay Show Houses the best in the country, raising money for Kips Bay and their world class programs.
An ode to traditional French design with nods to Asian influences, “Le Salon du Champagne” is ready to greet you at the 2024 Dallas Kips Bay Show House. The living room seamlessly blends luxe elegance with a warm welcome, transporting you right into a Champagne Salon in France.
Enjoy a coupe of champagne amongst the beautiful metallic wallcovering, “Poppies” by Gracie Studio. Fabrics from Kravet’s new collection in collaboration with Joseph Altuzarra adorn the window treatments, which were custom-made by The Shade Store, and the 19th century French armchairs, a skirted ottoman, and pillows. An antique, palace size, Turkish rug lays atop the beautiful walnut parquet floor.
In “Le Salon du Champagne,” a lady may find herself lounging on the asymmetrical chaise upholstered in Fortuny, gossiping with friends on the banquette upholstered in Cowtan & Tout, perching on the twin Kravet mohair sofas with Samuel & Sons custom trim, or engaging in a game of mahjong with chairs upholstered in Zoffany. The custom pagoda fireplace mantel by Casci Ornamental Plaster, fire screen designed by Trish’s son, and antique pagoda mirror emphasizes the Asian elements of the Gracie wallcovering. Commissioned pieces of art by John Holt Smith, Carlyn Ray, and Larry Whiteley add a contemporary flair, and Christopher William Lifestyle Technology is providing Lighting Control, Tape Lighting and Audio to complete the atmosphere. When ready to top off your coupe, pop over to the built-in bar where the barware is shimmering, and the champagne is always stocked. “Le Salon du Champagne” is a stylish sanctuary that invites women to unwind, socialize, and enjoy leisure time in a beautifully curated environment.
Although Trish has been involved since the inaugural Dallas Show House in 2020, this is the first time she has worn two hats: both as a room designer and a vice chair. Five years ago, Trish designed the “Son’s Bedroom” in the Preston Hollow Show House. This year, Trish is thrilled to harness a completely different facet of her talents, while maintaining her integral sophistication and elegance.
After visiting the proposed property for Kips Bay, I was on a plane going to Los Angeles. We had not planned to participate this year other than on the committee and the President’s Dinner Committee. For some inexplicable reason, I started having a vision of a cozy lounge that would be a club within a club. The walls would be a burnished gold painted wallpaper (I thought immediately of de Gournay because I had discussed doing a room with them in Palm Beach earlier) with drapery and ceiling to match. Because of all the beautiful moldings and trim by Casci Plaster in the room we knew Louis Gloria Painting would do a great job matching the background of the paper using Benjamin Moore paint. The lovely windows I could imagine with gorgeous silk drapery fabricated by The Shade Store.
I could envision back to back traditional sofas in the middle of the room with a console in between and a pair of low wattage lamps to create the mood. There would need to be chairs but I wanted them to be more modern, upholstered in different styles and colors of fabulous Fortuny fabrics furnished to us by the David Sutherland Showroom. And, then—a pair of mirrors on opposite walls hung in the European style in a wonderful burnished gold leaf.
Of course, there had to be a bar in the room and I happened to have a fabulous Italian one that always reminds me of Harry’s Bar in Venice—it even has sketches of Venice on each front panel.
Kravet, who is my partner and represents so many designs of mine, was generous to provide the gorgeous velvets for the sofa and other chairs in the room. We were off to the races! I never looked back and knew we had to do this room. I named it after the old Cipango Club where Jim and I used to go in the ‘80’s—The Cipango Room—a club within a club. The Golden Hour.

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look Dunbar Road’s expansion to London, The San Francisco Fall Show, and pay tribute to Michael Kelcourse. Written by Natalie Aldridge.
Dunbar Road Expands to London
One of our favorite Dallas-based design firms has officially expanded across the pond. Enter Dunbar Road, founded by Carla Fonts, a maestro of color and timeless elegance. With roots in two of Havana’s most prominent families, it’s no surprise that style runs in her veins. Her grandmother and mother were the kind of women who jetted off to Paris for the perfect table linens. Carla, naturally, inherited a flair for the finer things and an incredible eye for detail.
Since 2016, Carla has infused Dallas with her unique design sensibilities. Her interiors are a reflection of her vibrant personality, showcasing bold colors, statement pieces, and impeccably curated furnishings that speak volumes. Dunbar Road has now opened a London office, bringing their signature style to Britain. We’re thrilled to see what’s next for Dunbar Road with this exciting expansion!
With the holiday season approaching, we turn also to Dunbar Road for festive inspiration—no one does holiday décor quite like Carla! Be sure to revisit our feature on Christmas at Dunbar Road from a few years ago. And right now, you can shop their holiday collection with 20% off wreaths and garland using code HOLIDAY.
The San Francisco Fall Show
The 42nd edition of the San Francisco Fall Show was held October 17 -20 with a portion of the legendary Opening Night Gala benefiting the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF). The Show’s Honorary Co-Chairs were Aerin Lauder, Founder and Creative Director of AERIN and Wes Gordon, Creative Director of Carolina Herrera.
This year’s show celebrated the timeless appeal and elegant contrast of Black & White in the worlds of decorative arts, fashion, photography, fine art, and beyond. From Piranesi’s prints to De Kooning’s brush strokes, from Escher’s mazes to Matisse’s charcoals, from lacquer and japanning to ebony and mother of pearl, Black & White is the monochromatic thread that ties it all together. Inspired by the timeless tuxedo, the cinematic glamour of Hollywood, and of course Truman Capote’s legendary Black & White ball, the show explored the artistic and emotional dimensions of this enduring color duo.

A Tribute to Michael Kelcourse
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Michael Kelcourse, the beloved butler, loyal friend, and fan-favorite from Bravo’s Southern Charm. For 18 years, Michael faithfully served Patricia Altschul, becoming an unforgettable presence both in her Charleston home and on-screen, where his warmth and charm endeared him to viewers. Tragically, in 2021, Michael suffered a spinal cord stroke—a devastating blow to the vibrant, ever-cheerful man we all grew to love.
A lover of caviar and martinis, Michael brought the utmost care and devotion to everyone fortunate enough to be in his life. Michael’s devotion went far beyond his impeccable service to “Mrs. A.” His life was a testament to dedication, having started as a mother’s helper and later apprenticing at a gourmet restaurant in Ireland. In every role he embraced, his passion and commitment shone through, making each endeavor a reflection of his unwavering pursuit of excellence.
For the rest of us, watching from afar, Michael brought warmth, humor, and a timeless sense of elegance that transcended the screen. His charm and wit left an indelible mark on fans across the globe, reminding us that true hospitality is an art—one he mastered effortlessly.
In 2018, we had the pleasure of having Luzanne Otte sit down with Michael, where he shared the story of his remarkable career, insider tips, and what it’s truly like to be Patricia’s trusted right-hand man and majordomo. Michael was one of those rare individuals who left an indelible mark, and his memory will continue on.
We invite you to share your own memories of Michael or a message of condolence for his family here.
Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Ash Mazzina, a London-based designer with an eye for detail and a heart for heritage. For the past two years, Ash and his partner, Chad, have been meticulously renovating every inch of their Victorian London home—one charming inch at a time. Ash’s design philosophy is one of thoughtful curation, believing that a well-designed space should evolve organically, with pieces that complement the rhythm of everyday life.
With an old soul, a deep passion for craftsmanship, antiques, and the fine art of curating a home that reflects personal style, Ash has embraced the journey over the destination. His approach is all about patience, selecting items that not only tell a story but will continue to feel like they belong for years to come. No fast furniture here!
In what he jokingly called the “ugliest house on the street,” Ash has transformed his historic, yet once characterless, home into a beacon of timeless elegance and craftsmanship. Rich, earthy tones and classic English details now infuse the space with warmth and sophistication, making it a true reflection of Ash’s refined design sensibility.
And lucky for us, Ash has been documenting every step of this thoughtful transformation, from the inevitable challenges to the delightful triumphs, across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Ash truly proves that the process can be just as rewarding as the final reveal.
Welcome, Ash!
Ash Mazzina
Q: What is your favorite aspect of being an interior designer?
A: My favorite part of being an interior designer is the chance to create spaces that truly feel like art. I love crafting environments that evoke strong, positive emotions. Too often, modern interiors feel predictable and bland, so I always aim to think outside the box and ensure that anyone walking into one of my spaces experiences something fresh and unique.
Before
Living in the UK, we’re lucky to have so many beautiful period properties with amazing architectural details, but it’s disheartening to see these opportunities wasted on designs that lack character. There’s a common misconception that older designs are outdated, but in reality, they’re timeless and elegant. They offer a charm that can really make a space stand out. My approach is to blend these classic elements with modern touches, creating spaces that are both distinctive and inviting.
After
Q: What are some style/design elements that you think are distinct or signature to your decorating style?
A: My design style is a blend of influences, grounded in Georgian and Victorian traditions. I’m a big fan of creating moody rooms with deep, rich colors that make the space feel immersive and cozy. I love using dark woods like mahogany, especially for pieces like side tables, which add a touch of warmth and classic charm. To give the space a bit of flair, I mix in decorative elements inspired by Italian and French designs, adding that extra layer of elegance. At heart, my style is all about combining traditional elements with modern touches to create spaces that feel both timeless and inviting.
Q: Where do you source inspiration and/or mentorship?
A: I like to think of myself as naturally artistic, but inspiration can come from anywhere. Sometimes, just looking at a color card can make me envision a fully designed room. We’re fortunate to have endless resources online, so I love exploring other designers’ work to spark new ideas. Traveling to stunning destinations also fuels my creativity. Scotland and Italy, in particular, are among my favorites for their rich beauty and history.
Q: Where do you enjoy sourcing antiques and art?
A: Most of my best finds come from Facebook Marketplace or eBay, but they require a lot of searching. I grew up in the Cotswolds, where the countryside is dotted with charming antique stores. Antique hunting is truly a labor of love for me. Sometimes, you can spend hours searching and come away with nothing, but other times, you might find treasures within minutes. That’s part of the charm and excitement. I’m especially passionate about lamps. I discovered an incredible artist in Florence, Tuscany, who creates stunning hand-painted ceramic lamps. Their work adds such a unique and beautiful touch to any space.
Q: What are 5 everyday luxuries you could not live without?
A: My coffee machine, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, Penhaligon’s – The Tragedy of Lord George, fine wine, and my cookbooks.
Q: What do you consider the most exciting part of your work, and how do you stay energized on a project?
A: The most exciting part of my work is definitely the chance to dive into all things related to houses and design. I could talk about it all day, and sometimes I do! Beyond the thrill of creating a beautifully designed space, I love meeting new people. Whether it’s tradesmen or business owners, we all share a passion for interiors, and collaborating with them is incredibly rewarding.
My recent project in my own home involved restoring the Victorian wooden sash windows and front door. I had the pleasure of working with Beechhall, a British joinery company renowned for their bespoke craftsmanship. Supporting British brands is really important to me, and showcasing their work through my own projects keeps me motivated and inspired.
Q: Have you ever had a decorating disaster that you can laugh about now?
A: While painting my bathroom, I managed to break the radiator valve and almost turned the room into a small swimming pool. Luckily, my partner swooped in and knew exactly where the shut-off valve was, something I still haven’t figured out. Let’s just say, I’m better at picking paint colors than plumbing!
Q:What are your tips for setting a lovely table?
A: I adore the elegance of a simple tablescape. There’s something beautiful about the combination of a linen cloth, ceramic plates, silver cutlery, and fresh flowers. I prefer to start with simple plates and layer them with smaller, decorative ones. Linen napkins adorned with rosemary sprigs, held together with rings, add a touch of charm. Seasonal flowers woven into the center complete the look and bring a lovely, fresh touch to the table.
Q: What is your favorite easy weeknight meal?
A: My bible is Ottolenghi Simple. My most worn-out pages are for Chicken Marbella, Baked Mint Rice with Pomegranate and Olive Salsa, and Miso and Peanut Butter Chickpea Salad.
Q: What are your favorite Instagram accounts to follow?
A: Remy Renzullo, Ben Pentreath, and Steve Cordony.
Each year, Benjamin Moore announces it’s color of the year, and The Glam Pad simply could not be more enchanted with their choice for 2025… Cinnamon Slate. As lovers of all shades of lavender and lilac, this delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown lends a cozy and understated perspective to a classic hue.
“One of the things that really stood out for this year was diving into the complexities and nuances of color, talking about undertones and thinking through what makes a given color special,” Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore’s director of color marketing and design told ADPRO. “The catchphrase we really latched onto was ‘quietly colorful’.”

While The Glam Pad never advocates jumping onto the bandwagon of any “trend,” we love the quiet elegance of Cinnamon Slate and feel it is a lovely and timeless option for any classic home.
Let’s take a look at some “Cinnamon Slate” inspiration from Benjamin Moore along with rooms from our favorite designers featuring similar hues…
