Last year, he enchanted shoppers with playful creations, including a rooster-shaped gravy boat, a squash-inspired pillow, and a wreath adorned with mushrooms, each piece evoking the charm of a bygone era. This year’s collection promises to dazzle once more, as Derian draws on his deep affection for vintage botanical illustrations, offering a fresh array of pieces that will captivate well beyond the final course of pumpkin pie. India Hicks for Tuckernuck

India Hicks, daughter of Lady Pamela Hicks (once Queen Elizabeth’s lady-in-waiting) and goddaughter to none other than King Charles III, is on a serious streak this season. Just six weeks after unveiling an illustrated biography of her illustrious mother, the ever-stylish, Bahamas-based British designer is back at it. This time for a limited-edition collection with none other than Washington, D.C. based retailer Tuckernuck.

Inspired by India’s effortlessly chic yet polished way of life, the 24-piece capsule brims with vibrant, whimsical designs tailored for the woman on the go. Tuckernuck’s signature blend of colorful, nostalgic pieces perfectly complements India’s aesthetic. Though her Bahamas lifestyle lends a relaxed, bohemian flair, her deep-rooted family heritage infuses the collection with an undeniably regal air.

Shot at Villa Verde—the elegant Palladian home her late father, legendary interior designer David Hicks, built in Portugal’s Algarve—the collection is brimming with statement pieces. Highlights include a fierce leopard-print jacket, vibrant maxis, chic blouses, beaded jewels, and the pièce de résistance, a puff-sleeve toile dress featured on both India and her teenage daughter.

Dollhouse Magic: The Kensington Dolls House Company

Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Though I’m well into my twenties, I’ve recently found myself pining for the innocent delight of dollhouses. Isn’t it amusing how, no matter how grown-up we like to think we are, the charm of childhood pastimes still beckons? Generations of children have been captivated by them, and here I am—still under their spell. The nostalgia was triggered when I stumbled upon an image of a dollhouse so exquisite it could rival any designer’s portfolio—complete with scaled-down wallpaper, miniature antiques, sumptuous fabrics, and, of course, an exterior that would make any architect do a double take.

Upon closer inspection, the image turned out to be the handiwork of the mother-daughter duo Rebecca and Lucy Clayton, the creative forces behind London’s Kensington Dolls House Company. This charming venture was born from a labor of love—Lucy and her mother started building a dollhouse for Lucy’s daughter when she was just a baby, with hopes she’d soon be old enough to play with it. One dollhouse later, they discovered an unexpected spark—a passion for design and craftsmanship that would soon become their calling.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Lucy, picking her brain about her creative process, philosophy, and the dynamics of working with her mother. From the moment we began, her passion was unmistakable. For Lucy and her mother, dollhouses are far more than just childhood toys—they represent the purest form of craftsmanship, designed to bring joy to all who encounter them. While people often have complex responses to art and design, something magical happens when they see a dollhouse. Whether young or old, male or female, a sense of innocence and delight instantly emerges.

Lucy explained that their goal is simple: to delight. As she put it, “There’s something nostalgic about seeing the world rendered in miniature. It’s pure, instinctive joy.” This feeling is something Lucy and her mother hold dear, and they are deeply committed to preserving that magic in every piece they create.

I then delved deeper into the inner workings of their business. Learning that this mother-daughter duo runs the entire operation together piqued my curiosity. After all, as many can attest, working with family can often come with its fair share of challenges and frustrations. Lucy, however, described quite the opposite. She highlighted how effortlessly they collaborate, their differing yet complementary skills creating a natural flow.

As she put it, “There’s no need for over-communication. We speak almost in code.” She even touched on their humorous banter. When answering the phone, they often quip, “Kensington Dolls House press department” or “Upholstery department,” playfully acknowledging that every role is handled by just the two of them.

Every element of the dollhouses is meticulously handcrafted by Lucy and Rebecca with the utmost of care, from upholstery to paper cutting to sourcing the finest miniatures, making them instantly recognizable as Kensington Dolls House Company dollhouses. Their work is infused with a deep love for the craft, driven by genuine excitement and wonder. The Kensington Dolls House Company takes on a handful of private commissions and brand collaborations each year while also rescuing vintage dollhouses through thoughtful, imaginative renovation.

A key part of their ever-growing business is the thrill of creative exploration. Whether printing their own miniature wallpaper, collaborating with fellow artisans, or diving into projects they’ve never tackled before, they’re always pushing their boundaries. Most recently, Lucy and Rebecca’s dollhouses graced the halls of Harrods in what became their largest showcase yet. These heirloom pieces represent over a year’s worth of meticulous craftsmanship. Made in England and filled with specially commissioned items from miniaturists around the globe, each house features extraordinary interiors, including handmade embroidery, upholstery, and furnishings.

The houses were designed in collaboration with architect Will Creech, Associate Architect at Ben Pentreath Ltd, who spent years working with Lucy on full-sized homes before being convinced to shrink things down a bit. They also recently displayed at the prestigious biennial Homo Faber exhibition in Venice.

in London has joined forces with Now, The Kensington Dolls House Company has joined forces with The Museum of the Home and Vinterior to present a collaborative one-of-a-kind dollhouse, on display now through October 17th. This meticulously restored vintage gem, inspired by mid-century modern design, offers a delightful twist on the traditional dollhouse—think of it as the ultimate chic home for your mini inhabitants!

The dollhouse will be auctioned from Wednesday, October 16th, to Sunday, October 20th, with proceeds going to support the Museum’s essential social engagement and community outreach initiatives. It’s a chance to bring a little whimsy home while contributing to a great cause.

To discover more about The Kensington Dolls House Company, visit their website here. If you’d like a chance to bring home one of their exquisite houses, head over to The Museum of the Home’s website here to enter the auction. And if you find yourself in London, don’t miss the opportunity to stop by the museum and marvel at their stunning creation in person!

A big thank you to Lucy and Rebecca Clayton for giving us such a wonderful inside look into their world of miniatures!

Mrs. Alice’s Fall Collection, Fursatile’s Closing Sale, and Our Favorite Advent Calendars

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Mrs. Alice’s Fall Collection, Fursatile’s Closing Sale, and Our Favorite Advent Calendars. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Mrs. Alice’s Fall Collection

The leaves have started to change here in London, and I couldn’t be more excited. With the crisp air brushing my cheeks, I’ve got autumn entertaining on my mind. Mrs. Alice, a favorite at The Glam Pad, has just released her fall collection, perfectly timed for the season. Featuring three distinct tablescape themes—Joy of Autumn, Enchanted Woodland, and Chinoiserie Owl—the collection is perfect for fall gatherings, Halloween soirées, or Thanksgiving feasts. Even more enchanting, the collection was shot at founder Alice’s idyllic rural Welsh home, adding a charming touch to its debut. Take a look!

The full collection can be shopped here!

Fursatile’s Closing Sale

In 2015, a Cavalier King Charles puppy named Cooper stole the heart of Fursatile’s founder, Jenny Caulk, quickly making her home his own. Growing up, she had always admired the “picture-perfect” rooms in her mother’s magazines and learned to find beauty in everyday moments—whether in a well-made bed, a home-cooked meal, or a room filled with cherished objects. Inspired by her mother’s ethos of “living beautifully,” she set out to create stylish, versatile products that catered to both people and pets.

After years of perfecting designs, sourcing quality materials, and securing patents, she launched Fursatile in 2019. The brand’s innovative products, like Protective Covers and the patented Step Ottoman, quickly gained a following among interior designers, celebrities, influencers, and pet lovers. Fursatile has been featured in Oprah’s O List, House Beautiful, Virginia Living, Hamptons Real Estate Showcase, The Scout Guide, and more, fulfilling her dream of beautifully connecting people and pets.

Having started the brand after the unexpected loss of her father, Jenny was driven by the values he instilled—honesty, hard work, and determination. With the unwavering support of her customers, especially following the passing of her mother in January 2022, Fursatile grew into something truly special, fostering deep and lasting connections.

Now, after wearing every hat in the business, she’s made the tough decision to close this chapter. To mark the occasion, Fursatile is offering a 40% off sitewide sale, with no restocks—making it the perfect time to enjoy the brand’s signature products.

Though Fursatile is pausing for now, the bond with its community remains. Customers are encouraged to stay connected as this journey evolves. Here’s to the Fursatile legacy and a life lived beautifully, a message The Glam Pad can surely a test to! Shop here now!

An English Vision by Ben Pentreath

For more than 20 years, Ben Pentreath has been a champion of exceptional English design, creating homes, interiors, and town developments that are at once traditional and distinctively modern, timeless, and boldly contemporary. An award-winning classical architectural designer and dec orator whose impressive client list includes King Charles, Pentreath and his eponymous studio, Ben Pentreath Ltd, have established a powerful reputation for commercial projects with an abiding sense of history and place, interiors that sing with color and texture, and residences that replace fussy excess with a light, effortless sense of comfort and harmony.

Pentreath’s latest book, An English Vision: Traditional Architecture and Decoration for Today, released tomorrow by Rizzoli, showcases two decades’ worth of his projects and explores his distinctive approach to architecture, design, and decoration. The book opens with a foreword by John, Earl of Moray, and an introduction from Pentreath, where he outlines his unique design philosophy, which prioritizes, above all, a strong sense of happiness, history, character, place, color, imperfection, a sense of the endeavor as a whole, and a sense of a project’s place in time.

© An English Vision, Rizzoli New York, 2024.

Succeeding chapters walk readers through a stunning variety of projects, across 352 pages of lush, full-color photographs taken by Pentreath himself. IN THE CITY looks at Pentreath’s urban projects, including the restoration of a house on Regent’s Park, London, with a new roof garden, glowing jewel-tone interiors, and cornices and joinery detailed with an early 19th century quality.

TOWNS & TOWNHOUSES explores the firm’s town development work, most notably the master planning of Poundbury, King Charles’ New Urbanist development, which comprises more than 1,500 buildings and is a triumph of postwar suburban expansion.

A chapter on THE COUNTRY HOUSE showcases rural retreats and historic country homes, among them a dreamlike Jacobean Castle revival in Cornwall, which had to be completely rebuilt and redecorated, with careful attention to historical detail, after a fire ripped through the building in the 1980s.

Finally, a chapter on VILLAGE AND FARM highlights projects that include a romantic West Cornwall seaside escape; a small Georgian farm nestled amid the unspoilt beauty of the eastern Cotswolds; and Pentreath’s own beloved home in West Dorset, a revitalized former parsonage that embodies the exquisite, personal simplicity for which Pentreath is so renowned. More than anything, the projects featured in An English Vision reflect Pentreath’s refined yet playful style, which integrates history, tradition, the different rhythms of time, and the personal tastes of his clients. It is this—the perfect marriage of the enduring and the intuitive—that makes Pentreath’s work so special and so enlivening.

“This sense of the whole is something that architecture
needs to recapture – a whole that, incidentally, is always
greater than the sum of the parts, and where beauty,
wit, intrigue and proportion are our watchwords, as
we try to create an enduring frame for this messy thing
called life.”

A Chic Holland Park Flat by Sean Symington

Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Earlier this week, we marveled at an extraordinary English manor house restored by the talented Sean Symington. And while we love losing ourselves in grand estates, it’s just as delightful to see smaller spaces masterfully done—like this vibrant Holland Park flat that Sean designed for a young American professional temporarily calling London home.

She tasked Sean with transforming her rental into a stylish sanctuary. In town for a short-term work assignment, she craved a space that felt like home, rather than just a stopover. The catch? Like most rentals, structural changes were out of the question.

Instead, the design focused on choosing pieces she could take with her when she moves. Hunting down antiques and vintage gems became part of the adventure, with a standout find being a set of botanical prints framed in a cheeky glossy green finish, adding just the right pop of color.

The flat, set in a charming Victorian building overlooking the park, already had character to spare. The design team’s task was to honor its historic architecture, with special attention given to the window treatments, turning those lovely panes into standout features.

A little design magic followed—placing the dining area in the bay window created a show-stopping focal point that draws you right in. The goal was to keep things fresh, vibrant, and perfect for a single professional in her thirties balancing city life with a cozy retreat. In the end, a few thoughtful touches, lots of color, and feminine flare, turned this rental into a chic sanctuary. I think we are ready to move in as well!

To learn more about his work, please visit Sean Symington Interior Design and follow @seansymington on Instagram.  You can also read The Glam Pad’s Style Profile Q&A with him here, and tour a botanically-inspired villa he designed here. Marie Antoinette Style at the V&A, Antiques at the Gardens, and Loeffler Randall for McGee & Co.

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Marie Antoinette Style at the V&A, Antiques at the Gardens, and Loeffler Randall for McGee & Co. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Marie Antoinette Style at the V&A

Marie Antoinette remains a fashion icon whose complexity continues to fascinate. Her enduring appeal is shaped not only by her extravagant style and youthful charm but also by the notoriety that has immortalized her in history. I, for one, have been captivated by the beheaded queen since childhood, drawn to the paradox of her tragic life and timeless elegance.

That’s why the recent announcement from the Victoria & Albert Museum about their upcoming exhibition, Marie Antoinette Style, has me absolutely thrilled. Set to open on September 20th, 2025, the exhibition promises an in-depth exploration of the queen’s lasting influence, tracing her impact across more than 250 years of design, fashion, art, and film.

Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette

From her iconic gowns to modern-day interpretations of her persona, the exhibition will be the first of its kind in the UK and only the third dedicated to the monarch outside of France. The curators aim to reclaim her narrative, moving beyond the infamous “let them eat cake” myth and exploring whether her reputation as a villain was truly deserved.

Victoria & Albert Museum

Archival research will be displayed alongside an in-depth exploration of the design, fashion, and cultural impact that Marie Antoinette imparted. An array of media will be presented, providing visitors with a new lens through which to view the ill-fated queen and encouraging us to rethink our perceptions of this complex and often misunderstood figure in history. The icing on the cake? The exhibition will be sponsored by the luxury footwear brand Manolo Blahnik.

Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette

For anyone enchanted by the intersection of history and haute couture, this is sure to be a spectacle not to be missed. Now, I must rewatch Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.

Birmingham’s Antiques at the Gardens

Today kicks off the 18th annual Antiques at the Gardens show, hosted by the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens. This highly anticipated event, organized by a committee of 150 devoted volunteers, has become Birmingham’s premier antiques showcase. The lineup features talks by internationally renowned interior designers, floral experts, architects, and landscape architects, offering an inspiring blend of creative talent.

This year, we’re particularly thrilled for The Future of Traditional Design, featuring an all-star panel with Elizabeth Lawrence, Rudy Saunders, and Elizabeth Pyne Singer, moderated by none other than Steele Marcoux, Editor-in-Chief of Veranda. Following that, don’t miss Influence and Inspiration, where design icons Barry Dixon, Mary McDonald, and Michelle Nussbaumer will share their insights, moderated by Margot Shaw, Editor-in-Chief of Flower.

The show also brings together celebrated antiques dealers from across the country, showcasing exquisitely curated pieces—from fine art and vintage jewelry to silver, rugs, textiles, home decor, and garden accessories.

This perennial favorite continues to draw admirers from far and wide, with proceeds supporting the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens’ mission to protect and nurture the wonders of the Gardens. Thanks to your support, these verdant spaces will keep thriving, ensuring future generations get to stop and smell the roses—literally and figuratively.

Running October 3rd to the 6th, tickets can be purchased here!

A Stately Manor House in Gloucestershire by Sean Symington

Written by Natalie Aldridge.

A manor house in the English countryside—what more could one ask for? At The Glam Pad, it’s the ultimate fantasy: endless green pastures, wildflowers, charming villages, and a rich history woven into every corner. Designer Sean Symington has captured that dream perfectly with his Gloucestershire project.

This Grade II listed Georgian manor, with its stately proportions and exquisite architectural details, was entrusted to Sean’s team for a full restoration to its former grandeur. Phase one saw the rejuvenation of the grand reception hall, drawing room, snug, and study, while the next phase is already in progress, with the ultimate aim of seamlessly revitalizing the entire estate.

The goal was to lay a strong design foundation, one that resonates throughout the house and sets the tone for each space to follow. And with a young family in tow, the clients sought to create not just timeless interiors but a home that feels effortlessly welcoming—like it’s been waiting for them all along.

What makes this home so special is not just its grand bones, but the thoughtful interior touches. With sumptuous fabrics, soft furnishings, and a tasteful sprinkling of cherished brown furniture and antiques, the manor feels warm and lived-in.

Sean’s work here is nothing short of an elegant balancing act, blending history, style, and comfort. After all, if you’re going to leave London for the countryside, it might as well be for a beautifully decorated historic manor in Gloucestershire.

To learn more about his work, please visit Sean Symington Interior Design and follow @seansymington on Instagram.  You can also read The Glam Pad’s Style Profile Q&A with him here, and tour a botanically-inspired villa he designed here. And stay tuned, as we will explore another of Sean’s projects on Friday!

Tori Mellott for Buru

The fabulous Tori Mellott, Vice President of Social and Video at Schumacher, has teamed up with the beloved women’s and children’s wear brand, Buru.

Buru, founded by Morgan Hutchinson in 2013 after the birth of her first child, came to life out of necessity—Morgan had an epiphany during a shared meltdown at a restaurant, where the high-neck dress she wore made feeding her baby nearly impossible. This sparked the realization that stylish clothes could still be functional and accessible. Over time, Buru evolved to cater not just to moms but to all women seeking chic, polished pieces that are as effortless as they are versatile.

Enter Tori Mellott: editor, tastemaker, humor enthusiast, and mother to two adorable twin girls. With her jam-packed schedule in the city that never sleeps, she and Morgan bonded over their shared love of New York, resulting in a collection that pays homage to the city’s vibrant energy. Think rich fall tones, shimmering metallics, and pieces with plenty of flair that seamlessly transition from day to night. And, of course, there are stylish looks for the little ones, too!
