Black Friday Sales, Slade Hooton Hall, and Adam Charlap Hyman for Sprezz

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Black Friday sales currently underway, Slade Hooton Hall for sale, and the Adam Charlap Hyman collection for Sprezz. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Black Friday Sales

Black Friday sales started early this year, and The Glam Pad always enjoys bringing you our favorite finds… Click here to shop our comprehensive list! A few highlights below…

Slade Hooton Hall

At The Glam Pad, we thrive on uncovering architectural gems with rich histories and captivating interiors. Nothing gives us more joy than stumbling upon an architectural gem with fascinating history and interiors. One such discovery is Slade Hooton Hall in South Yorkshire, UK, a fascinating estate commissioned by John Mirfin—Sheriff of London and later Lord Mayor, and built in 1698.

Images Courtesy of Inigo.
Crafted from local limestone and crowned with a Cornish slate roof, the estate is enduringly elegant with a symmetrical façade. Inside the estate, original features such as bolection-moulded door architraves, fireplace surrounds, and cornicing adorned with 20th-century paintings give the home a unique and very cozy charm. One could almost imagine curling up near the roaring fireplace with a lovely novel.
Throughout the hall’s many decades of existence, its original details have been thoughtfully preserved and maintained. Through documentation like a found 1720 sketch by Yorkshire artist Samuel Buck, showing the gatepiers and a stable at the back of the property, original details of the home have been able to be restored and rebuilt over time. Slade Hooton Hall is a truly magnificent property waiting for a lucky someone to love it just as it has been by its previous owners. Alas, we can continue to dream.

Adam Charlap Hyman x Sprezz

AD100 designer Adam Charlap Hyman needs little introduction. As principal and co-founder of Charlap Hyman & Herrero, Adam Charlap Hyman works on an  array of enviable design ventures, spanning from residential projects to opera sets and art galleries across the globe. With a degree in Furniture Design and Art History from RISD, and a professional background in renowned home furnishings companies, Charlap Hyman is a rising force in the design world landing him on Forbes Magazine’s “30 Under 30” list in the art and style category.
Ahead of the holiday season Charlap Hyman has joined forces with New York based tableware company Sprezz for an exclusive collection. Comprised of a series of ribbon adorned plates, the collection is a delightful departure from traditional holiday decor. The plates are inspired by prints of citrus fruits from the 17th and early 18th centuries showing ribbons bearing the names of the depicted fruit.
The ‘Cedro grosso Bondolotto’ with a view of Nuremberg, in Johann Christoph Volkamer’s Nürnbergische Hesperides (Nuremberg, 1708). © Stadtarchiv Fürth, Bavaria
The concept of each ribbon appearing as if blown across a table and landing perfectly on each plate was brought to life by artist Pilar Almon, who originally painted the ribbon design in collaboration with Charlap Hyman. Have a look!

Tastemaker Tips for Perfect Paperwhites

Paperwhites are a favorite holiday tradition here at The Glam Pad as they are perfect for decorating and gifting. In order to have blooms for Christmastime, now is the time to plant your Paperwhite bulbs. We’ve asked a few of our favorite Tastemakers (who have also provided their favorite Christmas shopping tips here) for some tips, and we rounded up some lovely images certain to inspire!

Tips from Michael Giannelli of East Hampton Gardens

  • Paperwhites can be planted early in October so they are ready for Thanksgiving or November for December.
  • They can be planted shallow with most of the bulb showing. Make sure you purchase bulbs ready for forcing.
  • I water mine with a shot of vodka mixed with water. This makes them stand up straight.
Or curly willow with cording or ribbon looks pretty to keep them upright.
  • For the lazy man (me) I buy them or take them from my shop already planted and ready to go!! I sometimes replant them in a beautiful silver bowl or a pretty blue and white vessel.

Tips from Tina Yaraghi, The Enchanted Home

  • Bulbs blooming? Plan those at least 2-3 weeks prior to the holidays.
  • Keeping them in a warm spot will accelerate the blooming, once they bloom if you need them to slow down, keep them in the garage at night.
  • Use pretty ribbons or raffia to tie the stems of paperwhites or amaryllis that get too top-heavy and start to flop.

Style Profile: Francoise Murphy Interiors

0

Born in the South but raised on the East Coast and in Europe, Francoise Murphy grew up in and around classically styled homes. She founded her Francoise Murphy Interiors in 2016 after moving to Louisville, Kentucky with her husband and two children. Her design aesthetic is traditional with a generous dash of color, a touch of modern, and a sprinkling of whimsy. Francoise earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Villanova University and master degrees from Columbia University and Temple University.

The Glam Pad is delighted to feature Francoise today as we take a look through her gorgeous portfolio with a Style Profile Q&A! Welcome, Francoise!

Photography by Tim Furlong Jr and Kate Leichardt of Lang Thomas Photography

Q:  When and how did you first become interested in interior design?

A:  I believe growing up in Europe and having a European mother influenced my interest in interior design.  Growing up in Europe, you are constantly surrounded by beautiful and historic architecture, gardens, museums, etc. and while I didn’t pursue interior design until later in life, I think living abroad set the foundation.

My career in interior design wasn’t realized until later in life when I married and we moved into our first home together (a Cape Cod style home in Connecticut).  I distinctly remember wanting to change the look and feel of our home and feeling very inspired by it all.  It fed my creative soul and I haven’t looked back.

Q:  How do you define your style?

A:  My aesthetic is classic, but with a fresh take.  This thoughtful mix helps create a collected and layered look.  And, ultimately, the goal is to create a home that feels welcomed and comfortable.

Q:  Who are your top five interior designers (past/present)?

A:  Wow, too many to list here….Billy Baldwin, Albert Hadley, Bruce Budd, Tom Scheerer, Bunny Mellon (her style), Rita Konig, Timothy Whealon, Ashley Whittaker…

Q:  Do you have any favorite go to paints, wallpapers, linens, artists, etc.?

A:  A classic ticking stripe, a floral chintz and a well-loved antique.

Q:  Where do you enjoy sourcing antiques and art?

A:  Any place where I am fortunate to travel.  Think of a coastal town or an historic city.  If I’m not traveling, I enjoy perusing online marketplaces like Chairish or Etsy or online independent antique shops located in the United Kingdom.

Q:  What are you working on next that we can look forward to?

A:  I’m working on a couple of residential projects locally and I’m looking forward to photographing two larger projects next year.

Q:  What has been the most challenging (and the most rewarding) part of developing your business?

A:  I would say not saying ‘yes’ to every single design inquiry that comes across your desk.  At first, saying ‘no’ can be scary.  But finding the right client has been the most rewarding part of my business.  When you find the right client, it sets your business up for success.

Q:  What are your tips for setting a lovely table?

A:  A patterned tablecloth or textile to create a beautiful backdrop, candles for soft lighting and florals to add some life and movement.  I love to add seasonal florals – whether it’s hydrangeas or magnolia branches from my garden.

Q:  What is your favorite easy weeknight meal?

A:  Any meal that involves seasonal produce.

Q:  What is the key to hostessing the perfect dinner party?

A:  Making sure guests have a drink once they walk through the door, soft (dimmed) lighting, a fun playlist and scattered hors d’oeuvre platters.

Thank you, Francoise, for joining us today! We are so inspired by your beautiful work!

In an exquisitely orchestrated collaboration, the illustrious design firm Salvesen Graham have joined forces with the esteemed textile house Sanderson. The unveiled collection features an opulent array of newly designed trimmings and an exquisitely curated selection of Sanderson’s most iconic fabric and wallpaper designs. Complemented by a well-crafted palette of paint colors, the collaboration is characterized by a sophisticated layered aesthetic—an element that distinctly sets both firms apart making them unmistakably recognizable. Earlier this fall, The Glam Pad reported on the newly released book “Mario Buatta: Anatomy of a Decorator” and had the pleasure of interviewing author Emily Evans Eerdmans.

Interior designer and artist Aldous Bertram has long been on our radar as a tastemaker and rising force in the industry. From his extraordinary book, “Dragons and Pagodas” to his work with Amanda Lindroth, he brings constant inspiration to us. Now, just months after launching his own design firm, he has paired with Fleur Home for an exclusive collection of  mirrors.

FAVORITE HOSTESS GIFTS

I love to give custom cocktail napkin sets by local New Orleans artist, Amanda Talley, or a simple rosemary topiary. A useful, fragrant, and festive gift.

BEST STOCKING STUFFERS

For this time of year, self care gifts are always welcome. we’re all over fed, under rested, and over served so a real jade roller or a restorative face mask fit perfectly.

GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN

My niece and nephew go crazy for gifts that were mine as a child. It means so much to me that they can use and love the things that brought me joy. Most recently, they were gifted my entire collection of vintage Hot Wheels. What a thrill!

GIFTS FOR PETS

Personalized, seasonal dog accessories are the way to go. Owners don’t feel obligated to use these gifts all year and it is a fab way to give your special pup a new look for the holidays. I like these mix and match collars and leashes and personalized treats.

GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

I mean nothing says happy holidays I love you so much like jewels but a luxurious set of pajamas could be just the ticket this year. I am eyeing this silk set from Ralph Lauren.

the-glam-pad-christmas-with-the-tastmakers-cindy-rinfret

CINDY RINFRET, PRINCIPAL INTERIOR DESIGNER OF RINFRET, LTD

FAVORITE HOSTESS GIFTS

A great scented candle is always a go-to. We love Cire Trudon, and you can pick something seasonal. To jazz it up and make it unique, we pair it with a great set of matches–either an antique silver and crystal match holder, a carved wooden matchbox, or a glass cloche.

BEST STOCKING STUFFERS

Lottery scratchers–but if they win big, they have to share!

GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN

A personalized baby blanket is my favorite gift for new parents. A classic children’s book is always great, too–Winne The Pooh and Eloise at the Plaza are my classic go-to’s.

GIFTS FOR PETS

My daughter recently got me a pet portrait of our dog as a Renaissance oil painting. It was fun and different from a Crown and Paw Pet Portrait. Or a bag of really great treats and a cheeky pet toy–like ‘Dog Perignon‘ or ‘Woof Cliquot‘ for the pet, it’s a great way to make a friend!

GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

An experience or trip is always meaningful. You can create a memory together that never goes out of style.

GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS

For neighbors–I like to get something they can eat or drink–extra points if it’s homemade! If they have a garden, you can also bring something to plant. I brought my neighbor a tomato plant, and now I keep getting fresh tomatoes from them!

WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?

Antique dishware–specifically dessert plates. You can mix and match easily.

JAN HAEDRICH Mink

JAN HAEDRICH, FOUNDER OF MME.MINK

The Art of Giving Luxury for the Season can be defined in many ways to many people. However, my personal taste is inspired not only by pieces that typically define the world of LUXURY goods, but also heart-felt and meaningful pieces that are creatively curated, assembled or simply found. In my world of perfect scenarios, gift giving would be the assimilation of all the things I love in one place: a mix of priceless pieces and diamonds-in-the-rough discovered in treasure troves; one-of-a-kind discoveries at local antique markets and thrift shops. Nothing defines OLD MONEY better than something representing a singular “nothing-else-like it” find!

FAVORITE HOSTESS GIFTS

For instance, A FAVORITE HOSTESS GIFT can be a vintage flower vase, urn or porcelain pitcher and filling it with evergreens. We a stop the famous French Antique Market at Porte de Clignancourt nearby in Paris that never disappoints.  Another option of giving includes finding a thrifted silver champagne bucket and placing a bottle of Veuve Clicquot wrapped with a satin ribbon around its neck.  This mix of old and new is truly an instant winner.

BEST STOCKING STUFFERS

The BEST STOCKING STUFFERS are a tradition in our family. My husband still sees it as the BEST part of Christmas with the most valuable gift to be given in the stocking. My suggestion for the woman who has everything, and no-budget-defined, would be the infamous diamond pendant from Tiffany & Co. Of course, a chic bottle of Classic Le Vernis Chanel in Rouge Brun will do just as well.

GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN

Giving to Children is the MOST enjoyable of all the Holidays. There is nothing like the light they have in their eyes Christmas morning. Delight them with a Large Playhouse decorated in string lights and FILL it with books, dolls, clothes Set it up as if it is ready for “play” on Christmas morning. Not only is it a fantastic presentation from Santa, but it will soon become a beloved place for them to read, or listen to music as they enjoy the warmth of twinkle lights above.

GIFTS FOR PETS

Pets need the BEST. Why not spoil them with couture? The Valentino Garavani Rockstud Pet Collar is all they need. Full stop.

GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

For us is simply time spent together. While in France, dinner at Hotel Coste, Paris is the perfect gift. If it is not possible to get to the City of Lights, then the next best thing is Hotel Costes 1 Double vinyl, Import Stéphane Pompounac. Other than that, a vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Men’s 40mm is sure to win his heart and improve his style.

GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS

GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS is a tradition in the MINKY Household. We always give our “Nearest and Dearest” potted poinsettias, a handmade candle or strawberry rhubarb jam. Another great find and MOST tasteful gift is a Mixed Evergreen Wreath from Serena & Lily.

WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?

The absolute TOP of my PERSONAL WISH LIST would be a 1982 Rolls Royce Corniche in black with black interior. Of course this is incredibly hard to find and if one would ever appear Christmas morning, I truly know Santa is real.

the-glam-pad-christmas-with-the-tastmakers-Jennifer Diederich Suite headshot (1)

JENNIFER DIEDERICH, FOUNDER OF SUITE

FAVORITE HOSTESS GIFTS

A nice cold bottle of bubbly is always a good idea to bring your host for the evening. For a really special event, I like to add some stunning colorful glassware from Estelle Colored Glass! For a personal touch, may I suggest a beautiful small batch hand poured candle in antique vessel ware by Candle Damsel

BEST STOCKING STUFFERS

Dear Santa, pretty please fill my stocking with gorgeous vintage baubles from Lady Holiday, whimsical beaded earrings from The Tiny Tassel (especially the Gaillard music notes!) and a repurposed bracelet made with vintage clip on earrings from Chic Maddies

GIFTS FOR PETS

My bunny Bea loves her wooden house for naps, jumping and general chaos.

These personalized food and water dishes from For Pete’s Sake Pottery are so cute for cats & dogs. I would love a smaller bunny version!

GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

I love to order my husband’s favorite treats from Italy on Yummy Bazaar as a taste of home. They carry tons of authentic brands that you will find in the grocery stores of Italy, France, Spain, Germany and Japan. This might be a fun way to say “remember when we ate these cookies at our picnic on the bank of the Seine last summer?”

Or for a special gift, may I propose my brand SUITE for a conversation starting coat? Perfect for the bold, colorful lady in your life. There is sure to be a print that will capture their heart!

GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS

“DIVINO” is a fan favorite scent diffuser from Wally founded in 1925 in Prato, Italy, a small town outside Florence. I adore the grape scent.

Or how about a charming vintage find from Grand Millennial shop? Let Nicole do the treasure hunting for you while you pour another glass of wine and enjoy the holidays!

WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?

Anything from Schiaparelli to add to my collection. I visit the Triple Face Bag by Schiaparelli at Bergdorfs at least once a month. It would be a dream gift! I would also like a tongue-in-cheek fake vintage book print from artist Anna Hoyle. Her humor is delightful.

Jessica Cain Barton Kathryn Interior Design

JESSICA KAIN BARTON, J. KATHRYN INTERIORS

FAVORITE HOSTESS GIFTS

I am a bit of a candle snob and love to treat a host with something they might not splurge on for themselves. I love the Trudon candles because you cannot go wrong with any of their scents (although Cire is my personal favorite) and the vessels they come in are classic and accidentally make the perfect companion to your holiday decor.

BEST STOCKING STUFFERS

For your antique lovers one of my favorite stocking stuffers is the Curator’s Choice Furniture Polish that I discovered at my dear friend Britt’s pop up shop last year and created by a true modern renaissance woman, Mary Spotswood. You can purchase through Britt’s website here. For anybody who is a bourbon aficionado (like we are in Kentucky) you cannot go wrong with any of the cocktail mixers from Jack Rudy here. For kiddos you cannot go wrong with the mystery Squishmallows which I have found spark joy at any age, I have to admit, they’re pretty darn cute. For tired Mom’s (like myself) I never turn down a silk eye mask for sleep and my favorites are made by SLIP and you can purchase those here.

GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN

We try to purchase as many high quality wooden toys as possible (although not perfect) and Tender Leaf Toys available through Maisonette is one of our favorite resources. Last year our son got the play kitchen and he loves it – we have added to his kitchen some of the fun “food” and cooking supplies like here, which is a great gift!

GIFTS FOR PETS

GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS

We tend to always give our teachers a visa gift card so they can treat themselves! However, alongside their card I love to purchase a beautiful aged terracotta pot and put a topiary inside with a dainty velvet ribbon around the stem. My favorite terracotta pots come from Campo De’ Fiori and I am currently coveting their Aged Mecate Planter here. If I can’t find a gorgeous local Myrtle Topiary you can order through this online Etsy shop and have shipped to your door. I also adore this olive green velvet ribbon and this gold satin ribbon.

WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?

I always ask for something I would feel guilty splurging on for myself any given day. It is normally something I can use for hosting or entertaining. I have been wanting one of Christopher Spitzmiller’s Faux Bois Cache Pots for quite some time.

FAVORITE HOSTESS GIFTS

I hate to start off with a little shameless self promotion (but I will anyway).  A great coffee table book is always a good gift and I am partial to A Newport Summer from Vendome Press.  It’s my love letter to Newport, RI; a collection of photographs of people, parties, beaches, and homes that paint a picture of summer in my favorite seaside town.

GIFTS FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

For your wife, you can’t go wrong with an Hermès bracelet.  They are classic and collectable.  If it’s your husband you’re looking for (and hopefully my wife is listening), I think these monogrammed Cairo robes from Pioneer Linens are pretty cool.

GIFTS FOR TEACHERS AND NEIGHBORS

A cool gift for your teachers or neighbors is this grow-anywhere meyer lemon tree from Uncommon Goods.  But realistically our teachers are so underappreciated and underpaid that they would probably just love an Amazon gift card 😉

WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PERSONAL WISHLIST?

We’re redecorating our house right now and I’ve always wanted this screen print by Harland Miller.  I should have bought it 10 years ago.  Don’t make the same mistake with some of my limited edition fine art photography (it’s only fair to bookend with another unabashed plug).

Thanksgiving at Scully & Scully

With Thanksgiving approaching, The Glam Pad has paired with Scully & Scully to present festive tabletop inspiration. As we embrace autumn and prepare for gatherings, Scully & Scully remains our go-to for entertaining needs. Not only are they our favorite purveyors of table top goods, Scully & Scully is also the primary distributor of Herend in the United States, and they offer an exclusive collection including items crafted solely for their clientele. Incorporating Herend turkeys and other characters into a Thanksgiving tablescape is always a delightful treat.

The Glam Pad takes great pleasure in championing family-owned enterprises, and one true gem that shines in this regard is Scully & Scully – an iconic bastion of American luxury since 1934. Owner Michael Scully assumed the reins of this esteemed establishment from his parents, who first began the business through antique dealing on Park Avenue.

Today, Michael’s indefatigable passion leads him on an annual globe-trotting quest to unearth remarkable vendors to represent. The majority of the exquisite pieces he discovers are meticulously crafted by highly skilled artisans who have spent years, if not decades, perfecting their techniques. Through Michael’s dedication and vision, the boutique has grown exponentially over the years, more than doubling in size. In the coming months, the famed store will be expanding once again, making the Scully & Scully experience all the more impactful.

Let’s take a look at some #verytgp favorites for this Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving we were inspired by Royal Crown’s Derby Imari accent plates in Pink Camellias. Inspired by the traditional Imari pattern, the leafy flares and autumnal tones are perfect for Thanksgiving entertaining. With the hint of pink and beautiful gold accents they are also wonderful for mixing and matching with your existing collection.

For the dinner plate we have selected the Herend Rothschild Bird Brown. A classic and an absolute favorite of ours. This pattern, originally designed in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe, is widely regarded by connoisseurs as the pinnacle of hand-painted porcelain.

Depending on the formality of your Thanksgiving gathering, we adore mixing traditional pieces such as the Bernardaud Botanique with more modern pieces such as the Bernardaud Végétal Or Gold. Never be afraid to experiment!

The silver flatware is Buccellati Parma
The stainless steel five piece place setting is Capdeco Diana Tortoise
The cake stand is William Yeoward
The salt & pepper set is Christofle Malmaison

The darling Herend figurines of which are all available in assorted colors.

Other items on the table:

The coasters are Baccarat x Kim Seybert

Zinnia Napkin Ring

For more details, please explore scullyandscully.com, stay updated by following @scullyandscully on Instagram, or simply click here to request a complimentary catalogue. And if you happen to find yourself in New York City, don’t miss the chance to visit the store situated at 504 Park Avenue. Scully & Scully graciously offers complimentary gift wrapping, making it the perfect destination for upcoming holiday gifting or registry requirements. Please keep in mind, if you’re eyeing a timely arrival before Thanksgiving, make sure to select expedited shipping for eligible items!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mrs. Alice Christmas, Sara Hillery’s Kips Bay Room, and Schumacher for Pamela Munson

Welcome to TGP Tidbits where we round up the happenings and our musings of the design industry each week. This week we take a look at Mrs. Alice’s Christmas collection, Sara Hillery’s room for Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas, and Schumacher for Pamela Munson. Written by Natalie Aldridge.

Inside Sara Hillery’s Kips Bay Room

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas is in full swing. Today we are giving glimpse into the show house with a look at Sara Hillery’s “Tea for Two” room. Located just off the kitchen, Hillery was tasked with transforming a passageway into something extraordinary. With a vision for fostering personal connections and promoting meaningful face-to-face interactions, steering away from excessive screen time, the hallway became meaningful tearoom.

Images courtesy of Sarah Linden Photography.

The space takes inspiration from 18th-century English and colonial tearooms, with a contemporary twist, where individuals gathered for socializing, card games, and profound discussions. The focal point wall draws its inspiration from classical pediments and French sleep nooks, serving as a home for a luxurious green velvet sofa that anchors the room. This centerpiece is complemented by two smaller tables that promote one-on-one conversations in a chic yet laid-back atmosphere.

To introduce a touch of modern elegance and texture, reflective blue glass was added to the back wall, creating a mirror-like ambiance without reflecting the adjoining room. The color palette draws inspiration from the natural world, blending soft blue pastels with vibrant green and blueberry accents, as exemplified in the “Carnival” pattern from Christopher Farr Cloth. The British influence is evident in the delicate accessories and a custom tea cart, all converging to bring Tea for Two to life as a sanctuary designed for individuals to gather and celebrate the timeless art of tea and card games.

Stay tuned for more to come on the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas.

Schumacher x Pamela Munson

In this latest installment of their highly successful partnership, the two powerhouse brands have unveiled a new collection of five handwoven straw minaudières just in time for the holiday season. Paying homage to their shared adoration of timeless patterns and bespoke embroidery, each straw minaudière draws inspiration from a carefully curated selection of beloved Schumacher fabrics. A Joyful 1930s Atlanta Abode by Huff-Dewberry

Located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, this 1930s-era Federal style home is a colorful and joy-filled example of today’s traditional design. It is the fourth home designed by Heather Dewberry and Will Huff of Huff-Dewberry for their now empty-nest clients. The homeowners had considered downsizing but were unable to find a house they loved so instead decided to update to suit their new chapter in life. Huff-Dewberry refreshed their interiors, instilling a crisper, cleaner aesthetic that still appealed to their love of traditional design.

Architect Norman Askins was also commissioned to assist with the refresh which included designing a spacious rear addition for a larger kitchen and mudroom, a laundry area, and a second-floor primary suite.

Dewberry chose a relaxed palette of blues and aquas to highlight the collection of antiques and enhance the updated interiors. Favorite moments include an entry hall with custom blue Colleen & Co. lantern and graphic wallpaper balanced with bespoke monogrammed chairs; lacquered blue bookshelves with Montes Doggert Pottery, and a playful mix of patterns in the family room including family Staffordshire pieces paired with a streamlined Asian-style coffee table. In the guest bedroom, a yellow toile wallpaper is balanced by an iconic Brunschwig & Fils fabric. And the kitchen is a stunner with silver gilt lamps on the island and a mix of pretty fabrics from Casa Branca and Quadrille.

Now head-over-heels in love with their house again, the homeowners found that you don’t have to relocate to find a “new” home. With some careful editing, design updates, and simple structural tweaks, new life has been given to this beloved home.

Please visit Huff-Dewberry to see more of Heather and Will’s work and follow @heatherdewberry and @will_c_huff on Instagram for ongoing inspiration.

Gorgeously Grandmillennial with J. Kathryn Interiors

One of our favorite things at The Glam Pad is discovering new-to-us designers who fill us with inspiration and joy. We first “met” Jessica Kain Barton of J. Kathryn Interiors when her scrumptious lower lounge for Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ 2023 Southeastern Designer Showhouse and Gardens was unveiled. A celebration of traditional style, with a generous dose of Grandmillennial flaire, Jessica looked to design legends such as Mario Buatta, Bunny Mellon, and Deeda Blair for inspiration. We were head over heels!

Having grown up in Kentucky, Jessica adores exquisitely layered interiors that are rooted in tradition, infused with playful whimsey, and designed for entertaining. She also has a keen eye for detail, which can be seen throughout every inch of this space from the sumptuous trims and passementerie to the skillfully hand-painted ceiling. Let’s take a look inside with photography by Robert Peterson of Rustic White Interiors and styling by Frances Bailey.

You can read more about this gorgeous room through a delightful interview Jessica conducted with Samuel & Sons. To see more of her work, please visit J. Kathryn Interiors and follow @jkathryninteriors on Instagram. And stay tuned, as The Glam Pad will be featuring much more of her work! 🙂
